instead of replacing the keys.. purchase a brand new multimedia keyboard for as low as 15$ and so on..

you can order a replacement keyboard from ebay and replace the whole thing. its a couple of screws and when pulling apart the laptop you must be careful of the clips. Also they probably sell them by the key on there.
I think its likely to be a hardware problem but check that your keyboard settings are correct for your country. Look in the control panel and then Keyboard settings.
Does the tab key work?
if the plastic scissor is broken or the end clips are broken you will have to replace it LINK hp uses 4 or 5 different type of plastic key holder so if you need one be sure you order the right one
