SOURCE: Rinnai 2001 space heater: stuck dial

mine did a similar thing, when in off position, it would only turn to pilot/ignite, but would not move past this point. I took off bottom cover to locate regulator. where the slector knob shaft meets the regulator, try spraying wd40 in the top of regulator where square shaft goes into reg. There is a saftey lock mech in there, and in my case it was stuck in the locked position. I then worked the knob back and fourth applying alot of pressure, but not enough to break the knob. it worked after a few tries, and lights and functions normally, locking again if pilot goes out. good luck.

SOURCE: Rinnai gas heater - to

Hi,

This sounds like you have a faulty 'thermocouple' (this is a safety device which the pilot heats up).

I wouldn't recommend you do it yourself, as you may invalidate your house insurance should something happen.

Ideally you should get a gas engineer in to change it, i know it's more expensive but at least you get piece of mind and a guarantee.

The part will cost no more than £25

I hope this helps

Steve :)

How do you light the rinnai glo-ray heater

Without pushing in the knob, turn knob to "IGN" position, THEN press and hold in knob while in that position, repeatedly press "Ignitor" button. (If it's the first time you've lit it, it may take up to 5 minutes of doing this to get the gas line supply full enough to light the pilot.) After the pilot is lit, continue to hold in "IGN" button for 10 seconds, then release, then you should be good to go.

Need to set my clock alpine cde9852

You need to push and hold the title button till it flashes the hour. Then turn the volume knob to set the hour. Next push the mode button and the minutes will flash. Again turn the volume knob to set.
The title button is to the far right and the mode button is below the volume knob. That should do it!

Have an old Rinnai Gas Heater (approximately 30 years old) still working well, but we had to turn off the gas, and now cannot turn it on again. We have two buttons, one below the other, one is red and...

You are half-way right, to light the pilot, light it and push down the red button and hold it for at ----least2-minutes-- till the flame heats up the pin (thermocouple- which fire-thermocouple metal makes electricity which sends it to the gas valve and says ,OK GAS VALVE,I'VE GOT A PILOT FLAME SO OPEN UP THE MAIN GAS VALVE! See where I'm going with this?

Cooktop controls are in too far and so won't let the knobs to be pushed far enough to turn to turn on the burner and Idon"t know how to raise the cooktop to see if there is an adjustment

easiest fix is to insert a small folded piece of paper into the hole of each knob untill you build the knob up enough for pushing down to turn the switch and it is free
