on the ipod touch the itunes icon comes out and their is a usb cable with an arow pointing to the itunes icon. what does it mean and how can i fix it if i cant plug it into a computer?

Plug it into your comp. iTunes should recognize that it's corrupt. From there, it should attempt to restore the iPod. This wipes the whole thing, and restores it to its original format. Good luck!
