We recently received a used sony trinitron tv. When I first hooked it up to cable, it worked fine. I just recently rearrnaged our furniture, and, in the process, unplugged the trinitron, and plugged it back in. When I went to set up, to switch tv to cable tv, I can't access it. The remote doesn't have a menu button, but if I use the PIC MODE button, I have the audio menu on the screen. All the remote lets me do from here, is change the MTS from SAP, MAIN, or MONO. Can you help me?
Dear sammy5, Stop by any TV repair shop in your area, and ask to borrow a used original Sony remote, they may require a small deposit; access the menu, perform your set up, then return it. Or you could buy a universal Sony remote from Walmart that should work just fine, for about. $7.00.

If your Tv does not have the HDMI port you can use the RCA cables. If your Tv does not have the RCA video/audio ports you will need an adapter from Radio Shack for hooking up a video camera to a cable Tv. This adapter will allow you to hook the Roku to the adapter with the RCA cables, then the adapter hooks to the Tv with a cable just like a cable box. This adapter is also a pass through for other devices like a cable box and or another DVD player. Hope this helps FixYa up.
In time as the Sony Trinitron ages it begins to have power issues. While this can be true of most tube televisions it's the rate and severity at which this happens to Trinitrons that makes it particularly of note. Many Trinitron owners have complained of the Trinitron set turning itself off randomly and frequently. Some sets have failed to stay on for longer than a few minutes at a time. Eventually some sets will not turn on at all. These problems grow more severe with age.
Check the power cable running from the Sony Trinitron 32. Make sure the cable is completely inserted into the power connection on the rear of the TV as well as the local power outlet.
Disconnect the power cable from the electrical outlet, then plug it into a different connection. It is possible to electrical outlet has died, forcing you to obtain a power current from a different source.
Check the cable connection running from the cable/satellite receiver or VCR. If the TV is on but no picture is on the screen, the problem is most likely due to a connection issue.
Power off the cable/satellite receiver, then press the "Video" button on the remote control to switch the Trinitron 32 to the video input signal. Turn on the cable/satellite receiver and the programming now loads onto the television screen.
Could be the IR receiver in the TV. Make sure nothing is in front of the TV that would block the IR from receiving commands from the remote, I've seen customers put VHS tapes on the front of their TV that caused the remote to not to work.
You can hook up to either aux or vhf not converter. then with remote use ant button to select the one you are connected to. then do the auto search. Also can you get to 3 by pushing 3 and ent on the remote?
