This sounds like you are low of refrigerant. Or you evaporator needs cleaning. Have it check out to see if you have a leak in the system

Have a Rheem central air unit situated outdoors, 20 yrs/old. The condensers are contained within it. I can run it 2 days straight, no problems. As soon as I turn it off, water winds up inside.

If the unit is freezing you will begin to see frost building up on the larger diameter copper. Also if you take the panel off of the evaporator coil (section that the copper is entering) you should be able to dump some water in the pan And make sure it is draining. Slowly pour the water.

Our carrier air conditioner failed to cool down the house last night. changed the filter and still struggling to cool house down.

is it cooling some at night but none during the day basically ? Outside unit clean also ? Good airflow ? if yes on all of these feel the copper pipes that go inside the house from the outside and once a/c has been on for a few minutes the large line should be very cool or cold to where it would condensate.. Sometimes it may take up to 15 minutes..

First check your air filters and make sure the inside and outside coil are clean. If they are clean and you are getting good air flow over the coils then you probably will have to get the unit charged.

The copper line under my s. b. s. fridge keeps freezing

the line that you ae seeing is the suction line . It sounds like the defrost timer may have gave up the ghost on you and the unit is not going into defrost. Take the model Number and make to the local parts house and have thenm get you a timer. They are real easy to replace and that should take care of the problem.

The contactor on the outside unit is sticking and must be replaced. The inside unit cycles off and the outside continues to run causing the refrigerant lines to freeze up.

Ac problems

Hello from KOOLBREEZES, this is a simle problem and easy to fix. You have 2-lines going to / from your outside unit. a SMALL COPPER -line and a LARGE COPPER line with insulations. The fat line is suppose to have moisture on it wheres it,s not insulated which tells you you have enough refrigerant gas comming back to he compressor but if its dry you,re low on freon and need a charge or the outside condenser is dirty and not getting rid of enough heat!

My AC unit keeps freezing up on the copper lines going into the house from the outside unit. It also freezes up on the inside lines and the air is not cooling my home down.

Operate your air conditioner with the fan in the on position. But first turn the fan on, turn the temp up or shut the cooling off. Your coil is more than likely frozen over. At night when outside temperature drops the refrigerant pressure and temperature in the system also drops. This action can cause icing of the cooling coil, with the fan in automatic everything shuts down at the end of a cooling cycle. Thus no air movement to melt ice on previous cooling cycle.
