Left click start, left click control panel, left click add/remove programs, locate microsoft office highlight it and left click change, once the window opens click on repair. This should perform a repair on your Microsoft Office Application. Restart the computer if necessary, also be sure to pull down any Windows Updates left click start, left click Windows Updates, there could very well be an update your Excel application is missing. The Microsoft Updates have been known to resolve some of the known issues with office applications.

I need to open excel in spreadsheet

Excel itself is a spreadsheet - You have to install Microsoft Office with Excel to read & edit the Excel files.

If you just want to view the excel you can download Free Excel Viewer & install on your System @ http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=1CD6ACF9-CE06-4E1C-8DCF-F33F669DBC3A&displaylang=en

or

You can download & install openoffice.org which is free @ http://download.openoffice.org/ to view & edit your Excel files.

Hope it helps.

Windows is not opening because of 'unauthorised changed in windows explorer' message is coming

You will need your Windows CD to do the following:
  1. Boot from your Windows CD (Change boot priority to boot from CD first in bios or use temporary boot options at startup - if your system supports it)
  2. When the Windows XP Professional/Home Setup screen appears, press R to enter Recovery Console
  3. At the prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter
  4. Once completed, continue with the steps below
Now make sure your system is free from viruses/malware by doing the following:
  1. Remove the Windows disk and restart computer into Safe-Mode with Networking (press F5 or F8 repeatedly whilst booting)
  2. Run an online virus scan here
  3. Download, install & update Malwarebytes
  4. Run a full scan & reboot if/when asked.
  5. Clean up your system by installing and running Ccleaner

My Microsoft Excel is not working. It gives message insert disk for Microsoft Office XP Professional with Frontpage

If you have not used it before, your excel might not be installed properly. try cto check if you are accessing excel viewer.

if so, you might need to insert installer disk again and re-install/fix the excel program.

Applications Closing Instantly

Yes, it sounds like a computer-virus.
Remove the disk-drive from your desktop computer,
and attach it as a "slave" disk-drive to some other desktop computer, and then run a full virus-scan.

Or, just follow "best practises":
* backup your data & music & E-mail & contacts,
* reinstall Windows from trusted media,
* run Windows Update a bunch of times,
* reinstall anti-virus software,
e.g., http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
* reload your files.

assuming you have Excel sw on your PC.
Assuming you are running XP.
Assuming you can start your Excel and Open any excel file using File/Open within excel.

You must associate Excel file with Excel program in your Windows Explorer.
Fastest way is Browse to any excel file with your Windows explorer (NOT IE)
Right click and select Open with...
Browse to find your Excel MSOffice program
Select Use always to use this program
OK
