Question about Computers & Internet
Your monitor has alot of electrolytic capacitors inside it.
they typically have a life expextancy of 3 to 5 years ( depending on the temperature in which they operate )
your montor has bad capacitors
if you know about the HighVoltage that is stored in the CRTube itself acting like a capacitor...... and know how to safley discharge the tube and keep it shorted with a clip lead so it doesn't re-establish a charge... which it will..... Great !
do not attempt repair
OK you may not have to disconnect the tubes HV wire to replace the caps...
but you get the picture,
you can get killed or hurt if you dont know what you are doing...
in what is required to fix your monitor.
replace the bad electrolytic caps
they have developed high ESR
Equivalant..SeriesResistance and you can buy a meter to find these bad caps in your monitor.
