Question about Sony NWZ-E438F Digital Media Player
I bought this mp3 player about a month ago. Used it for a couple weeks with no problem. The battery would never register a full charge when not plugged into my computer, but it worked great nevertheless. Now for some reason it will not charge at all, even though when it's plugged into my computer it says it has a full charge after only a few moments after I plug it in. It won't get passed the welcome screen, and now I'm not even getting a low battery screen. Very frustrating because I really like this player!
I just figured out the problem I had just like yours. I have three different sony MP3's and thought all the usb cables were the same. Well after changing out the usb cable my 438f started charging. I was using the cable from my s615f and the same is true if I use the 438 cable on the 615-full battery instantly. Also sony does not replace these batteries. If in warranty from purchase date, they will exchange with "like product" for $29, or repair yours for $77. Both prices include return shipping. http//eservice.sony.com
