Question about Acer Aspire 4530-5889 Notebook PC
I used the webcam without a problem for a month or so after I got my laptop in DEC '09. Recently when I open it I can't see anything but a black screen where I should be seeing myself. I tried to contact ACER for support but the directions in the support emails made no sense to me and didn't work at all.
I called ACER technical support. They gave me a link to a different drive to try but still had the same problem (driver installation resulted in hardware not found) message. Phone support wanted me to do a repair install (requiring me to loose all my installed programs and data). Luckily web support allowed me to send in the laptop under warranty. They replaced the webcam and returned my laptop in working order without any data loss.

Just try to look in your web cam options adjust the contrast and brightness..
