My griddler does not maintain the heat setting that I have chosen. How can I correct this?
The food starts searing and then does nothing. I just received this grill yesterday and wonder if I am doing something wrong. It took a long time to fry bacon and eggs this morning.
I have had the same problem and can't seem to get an answer. I had one griddler replaced under warranty, but the new one does the same thing.I have had the same problem and can't seem to get an answer. I had one griddler replaced under warranty, but the new one does the same thing.

Get a step down transformer/converter. Grill consumes 1500watts of energy. Converts cost 200 dollars here at sim lim tower/square. Make sure get the correct watts, it is very important.
You can either choose to select the SET levels for the heat which can be a direct button or you can select the power button and scroll up or down the settings. Also the weight of the food must be chosen to be effective for the heat. Click on Microwave
if the thermostat is wired correctly, your problem is likely in your furnace.
My first guess would be a faulty limit switch, but without seeing your furnace, it would be hard to say.
Have a qualified service person look it over... It would likely be a good time to have it cleaned and tuned also (once per year is best, or every other year reduces your chances having problems)
I suspect that is the norm for slow cooking. The cooking temp is brought up and just maintained for the given time. Nothing wrong so :) . You wouldn't want the food to sit in liquid that slow in heating up. It's kinda like bbq'ing. You set the patio on fire and wait till the flames to subside before you put the hot dogs on. I think you are safe. :) - Ned I consulted with a crock pot fanatic, My Wife!
Temperature is perhaps the most critical means of control in the prevention of foodborne illness. Harmful (disease-causing) microorganisms grow within a temperature range of 41 F to 140 F (referred to as the "Temperature Danger Zone"). Many foods, especially raw animal products, naturally contain harmful microorganisms. Keeping foods out of the Temperature Danger Zone prevents disease-causing microorganisms from growing in foods. Proper cooking and reheating of food is important because heat destroys disease-causing microorganisms that may be present. Ensuring proper heating and storage temperatures is essential for assuring safe food in retail operations. Temperature guidelines differ depending on the type of food and method of heating method.
Freezing Most pathogenic microorganisms will not grow below 41 F, or their growth will be very slow. However, many spoilage microorganisms (which cause foods to taste and smell bad) can grow at temperatures well below 41 F. Most foods that are frozen in food retail are done to improve quality and increase the shelf- life of the product. Most foods will freeze at about 28-30 F. To ensure safe freezer temperatures, be sure that your freezer is maintained at least 28-30 F or below (foods should be frozen solid). Ideally, foods should be frozen at 0 F or below to maintain quality.
It seems that your Refrigrator's higgest point is set to 41 F
