SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

FAQ Proper Use of SD Cards with Moultrie Game Cameras

Question appears to be from some months ago, but Moultrie web site shown here suggests copying photos to a computer if possible directly without using the camera itself. Then it suggests reformatting the SD Card itself.

On model MFH-DGW2.1 it will not work with sd card. it will not recongnize card, i can not get it to change modes or get camera to work. take card out and camera works

SD card 101: the 2.1 MP cam is not compatible with newer sd cards...get standard SD class 4 or less; SDHD(high def);SDHC(high capacity);and classes above 4 may not work(class 4 SD cards usually have a 4 stamped just under the SD on card's label.

I have a moultrie spy 40 a bear i think pulled it off a tree . It will not turn on now . It has no power.

Been there...my bear ripped 4 cameras off trees and destroyed 3 of 4 feeders...repaired feeders...cameras had to be replaced(in bear-proof cases)...water had gotten inside...one SD card had bear's pics.

Camera doesn't recognize the sd card, bypasses it

1) This camera accepts SD cards up to 4 GB in capacity. Most 4 GB SD cards however, are "SDHC" types (check the label to determine which type you are using). If you are using a 4 GB "SDHC" card, it may be causing the problem, as it is not an "SD" card. Furthermore, any card greater than 4 GB is not compatible with the camera. Any SD card with a capacity less than 4 GB should work without issue.

2) Check the position of the lock or "protect" tab on the side of a compatible SD card to be sure it is in the unlock position. The camera will be unable to write to a locked or protected card.
