So you say that the defrost water is leaking onto the freezer floor. Is there a pan to catch the water and is that the problem?

Yes there is a condensate drain behind the back panel inside the freezer compartment. It collects the defrost condensate and sends it through the wall of refrigerator and down the back into a pan beneath your refrigerator and beside or on compressor. Then as the condenser fan below runs the condensate is then returned to the air inside your home. Sometimes there is ice frozen in the drain entrance or a blockage near near the freezer area causes the water to overflow the collection tray and the overflow ends up on the freezer floor or the fresh food section floor. If you still have problems I will be here to assist you, Thanks Sea Breeze

Leaking water and ice build-up in freezer

There's a drain hole in the freezer side behind the bottom drawer in the back wall that must be clogh ; put hot water into it untill melted the ice and keep pouring water to clean the drain (don't worry , the water goes to an evaporative tray) .Keep the drain clean by putting every 3/4 months half a cup of clorox or bleach.

I have water leaking on the floor due to a clogged defrost drain (probably) but I can't locate the drain on either side. Checked under the bottom compartments on both sides. Water is turned off and still...

You have to take everything out of the freezer side and remove back panel. There are 2 white hex screws around where the second shelf normally is. Top half (where fan is) comes off first, then bottom half comes off (it may be stuck if coils are frozen, let defrost a little). You will see stainless steel drain pan below coils. Also could be ice maker water supply or water chiller behind lower drawers on refridge side.

10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

Amana bottom freezer: water leaking & ice build-up

There should be some kind of drain at bottom of freezer compartment to collect and run off any condensate that collects during defrost cycle.. Clean out the drain and snake out the line that leads from it. Right now the liquid is collecting where it should not and it will leak out the gasket when you have enough of it.

Water drains internally at back of freezer drawer

Check the drain.

Take the bottom drawer out of the freezer and look in the very back for a drain hole. It may be covered with ice. A hair dryer will melt the ice so you can unclog the drain.

Water leaking - GE Profile Refrigerator, Model: TPX21PRX

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.
