"Machine Error 30" (or "Unable to Print") indicates either a simple problem such as a paper or part of a paper stuck inside the machine, which of course is solved by opening the machine as much as possible and remove the reason for the jam.
Even a ripped part of a paper will be able to cause the paper, so it's important to be careful when taking jammed paper out to not rip the paper (do this by carefully pulling the paper among the same way as it would go when printing, not the opposite direction).

However, if that doesn't work, the error is mechanical (but still most likely caused by the jam, either a sensor getting dirty and unable to do it's work, or actually getting broken), and there isn't much you can do. If the message comes back right after turning on the machine, you'll have to have service performed on the machine.

I'm getting an error saying Unable to print 30

  1. Clean all feed wheels and guides with methylated spirits.
  2. Look for any switch or guide that may be bent or out of place. This could have been damaged when a jam was removed.
  3. Look for any small piece of paper or staple that may have lodged in the paper path somewhere.
  4. Ensure the paper is dry. Not stored in a cupboard in the kitchen or the printer is not setup infront of an air vent.

Unable to print 30 or 50

the encoder strip is probably out of its socket. its a long mylar strip that goes from one side to the other, and goes underneath the printhead.

Message unable to print 50

Machine Error 50 either means that there is a loose object inside the machine (usually piece of paper), or that there is a mechanical error which would need you to have the machine sent to service.

Error message print unable 50

the encoder strip which gives the printhead the position is out of place (error 50). You have to open the printer and reinsert the strip:

Stick a 1.5 inch tape onto the printhead cover where the strip runs thru. This will prevent this accident in future!
