Controllers more than likely on a memory lockout... kill the power and take the batteries out of it... leave it for 60 seconds and try again... unfortunately you are probably going to have to replace the controller, sorry

Is it normal for a chronotherm iv plus to have the highest cool setting to be 85 and the highest heat setting to be 65? I feel like its reversed.

Those may be the upper and lower limits. For cooling you would not want the system to allow the temp to rise above 85. Conversely when heating you would not want the heating system to go below 65.

I can't turn my Chronotherm IV plus off! Can anyone help me. It is going to cost a fortune

Depends what model number you have. The older models had problems. So Honeywell upgraded the model several times. When you say, cant turn it off. If that means the heat will not shut off then you have no choice to replace it, also if the heat, cool, off, switch will not work it is not repairable. Go to Home depot or menards and pick up a thermostat. Find somebody with some handy man skills and they can replace it for you.

Honeywell Chronotherm iv fan keeps running even when heat and cool turned off. How do I turn it off?

To turn the fan off, press the "fan key" until it says "auto". This will turn the fan off. When the programs scheduled, changes, the fan will go on again. You have to repeat the fan to "auto" each time the schedule changes.

My Honeywell chronotherm IV Plus thermostat intermittent problem

The Chrono Therm 3 and 4's were some of the worst products that honeywell has EVER put out. I would suggest switching to the Vision Pro 8000, please consult your local HVAC company for more information regarding the change over.

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm IV Plus a/c unit and I can't get my air condt. to turn on. The room temp. says it's 17 degrees in the house so it won't turn on. I need to know how to reset the room tempt....

Not only are the Chronotherm IV's less than user friendly, they have a terrible failure rate. It sounds like one of the typical failures of the chronotherm IV. I suggest starting with a new thermostat.
