You have to Synchronize it before playing. You take off the caps of the wii controllers and then you see a red button and near the wii start button there should be a cap to open it, you press both of them at the same time and it should Synchronize. If you need more help or any other explanation you should turn on your wii and it should show you the Details. :]

Do you play with the second controller before? If you not the second controller must "bind" to the console. Open the cover in front of the Wii and press the red button there and then press the red button on the controller.
Hi,
Sounds like you need a soft or hard reset.
try unplugging the console from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then try turning on re-booting. remove any memory cards et,c. when you startup.
wen you go to play a muliplayer game and the second remote won't turn on automatically wen a button is pressed then with the player one remote go onto the wii menu then go onto wii remote settings ( at the bottom of the screen) then click on reconnect press 1 and 2 at the same time on the player one remote after a while it will turn on the do the same thing with the player 2 remote and it should turn on afer a few seconds
I had the same problem and called Nintendo support. They had us unplug the wii console for 30 seconds, plug it back in and start the system back up. BEFORE pressing the A button on the health and safety screen, we needed to take the battery cover off of one remote, press the red sync button, then quickly press the sync button on the front of the wii console (in the front - you have to open the flap). Once the single blue light was on at the bottom of the remote, do the same with the other remote (press the sync button on it and then on the wii console). Then the second blue light should be lit on the second remote. Hope that helps!
Hey did you try holding the red button where you put the batteries and holding the red button where you put the SD card all unit have an button so it can read the sensor from unit to controller....
I have had this problem too. Try re-syncing the remotes. If that does not work then try getting a hold of nintendo customer support at: [email protected]
Hope I helped :)
