Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV

Get TV off of mute setting without using remote

We just bought an ''out of the box'' TV from BestBuy, and it didn't come with a remote. We just hooked it up, but we can't get any sound. I suspect that the TV is set to mute. Is there a way to get the TV off of the mute setting without useing the remote? Any suggestions?

I'm fairly certain that this set is never muted at power-up. Seems like you have a different problem. I assume you've already tried adjusting the volume?? Both speakers plug into the 'Signal' board with a single connector, it's possible, but unlikely, that this is unplugged.

Hello, I have a General Electric 27GT 277 CRT Television, however, when I went to do a channel search it didn't return any channels. Although I was watching 6 free channels before, I don't have...

Hello,
Allow me to try and assist you based on your situation.
Most FREE channels went digital, more and more will disappear from the RF spectrum as digital moves into play. This tv is by far not digital thus it uses RF "radio frequency" that is transmitted from a tower to your rabbit ears then converted into the tv to make a picture and sound.
Here is a suggestion that you may consider, will not break the budget. Radio Shack carries a digital set top box that hooks to a antenna thus down converts the digital to analog for you so you can enjoy far more then 6 channels without having to pay the cable man or satellite tv company for your local stations.
Here is a link to the box I am talking about http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3150939
This box will help you get those channels back, will get you watching more TV.
Now for the remote issue, This box comes with a programable remote that will work for your tv so it kills 2 birds with one stone. You could also order one from remotes.com or 1800-remotes if you like.
We do hope this information does help you with your problems.
Thanks for using Fixya.com

We have a DVR hooked up to our 1989-99 Mitsubishi TV (floor model) still in amazing working condition. The remote control for that TV never allowed us to put the TV on mute. If the mute botton was...

Well, without knowing the exact model of tv and remote, I can just give my best guess.
Try using the volume up/down on the TV and / or the remote.
On the TV, try pressing both the volume up and down at the same time.
Stick the remote right in the face of the TV (direct in front of the remote sensor) and hit the mute button.
Try tapping the mute button in very short single bursts rather than pressing it for a half second like you would any other button.
If any of those work, please come back and reply with the model of the TV and remote, because someone somewhere probably has the same issue and would love to have it solved!

No sound

When my sound output set to off and I use the remote to change volume; it tells me speakers off.

Try a different output method: hook up headphones, other speaker type... these answers should help you find a solution.

It has got to be the box. I would try to contact Scientific Atlanta if any way possible. The TV doesn't choose what inputs it shows CC.In other words, it would show it on all Inputs if it was the TV. Good luck and Thanks

Try turning off the converter box when using the DVD player. The zenith have a second sound control on the converter box remote thus you may have to adjust the sound on the tv remote because you are using the dvr. I set the zenith sound level at the highest level and use on the tv remote only to adjust sound. This eliminated a hiss that the sound control on the converter box was causing.
