Lamp turns off - power stays on

I have this model and the lamp comes on and works when the machine is first turned on but later the lamp goes off even though the power is still on - does this mean the lamp needs replacing even though it still works for the first few seconds?

SOURCE: I have a model and

First of all check the lamp hour . Reset the lamp hour and try again. It is recommended that reset lamp hour only after replacing the lamp. No matter, just reset the lamp hour. If problem doen't repeat the try to replace lamp.
Another possible problem is the faulty lamp cooling fan. Check the lamp cooling fan of your projector. maybe its has some problem.Do one thing, Remove the fan from the projector. In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now u can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the projector.

SOURCE: Hi, My MT 200 was working perfectly, the bulb has

I don't think this is a bulb problem I think it is a power supply problem. The power supply has converted from the line power level to what the bulb needs. If it has a problem it will go into standby. The bulb is the big power draw on these units so the parts in the bulb power section is subject to a lot more heating and such.

With 700 hours I'm not sure how old the unit is. If you have warranty this is covered. You may have extended store if they talked you into it. Or it is possible you have Toshiba warranty. You should start with the store first and see if there is warranty and they will be able to tell you if there is a local repair depot.
A Toshiba repair depot will be able to fix the unit and tell you about the repair cost. Make sure you have an idea of replacement cost just in case the repair is too expensive. Other than the repair shop I can't suggest anything that would help you out.

Hi, I have just bought a second hand Mitsubishi Projector EX53U. It was working when I picked it up but a day later I plugged it in and the red POWER light comes on but I can't turn it on.

You can try reset by holding power video and computer buttons for 2 minutes. IF it tries to come on then goes off it is the lamp. Do you have a remote?

I have an Infocus LP640 projector, which hasnt been used in a couple years. When I plugged it in the speaker were making a clicking noise. After a couple minutes the clicking went away. Also, the...

sounds like the clicking may be the high voltage trying to ignite the lamp. when it does come on the picture is very bad. Did the lamp seem to shine very brightly through the fan vent when it did come on that time when the picture was dim.
How many hours has the lamp been used for.
Check the air filter for dust etc.
See if you can borrow a spare lamp, and test it in the machine

Replaced bulb yesterday worked fine. Today light will not turn on. projector turns on both lights green for 10 seconds, then power goes red and status blinks green for about 5 seconds, then status light...

green green is power on, normal
then it tries to light the lamp, but it can't so the protection circuit comes activated.
you get red and green blinking

Then it goes to standby, red and off.

so something has happened to the lamp, or lamp ballast power supply.
Take the lamp out and check if all is OK with the 2 terminals in the connector, and the leads to the lamp are intact.

Failing that, I would suspect the ballast lamp power unit

Starts to power on,then shuts down

Have you checked the filters? I have a Sanyo PLV-75 and had a similar problem.  The normal fan would come on when the unit was first started, then after a few seconds the secondary fan came on and then the unit would shut down.  Called tech support and they asked if I had cleaned the filters. I did it, and it worked great.  Check the manual for where the filters are and hit them first before getting a new bulb.  Hope it helps!

Lamp wont stay on. fan continues to work after lamp goes out. When power is turned on light comes on and fan starts working. with in a second or so the lamp turns off but fan continues to run.

Most likely you need to replace the lamp. It is possible the your lamp ballast is failing as it scales back to low-voltage DC drive, but more often than not this problem is traced to the lamp needing to be replaced.

Lamp won't stay lit

I've got the same problem, I'm wondering if it has to do with some sort of auto shut off kicking in due to overheating or something, I was gonna try replacing the fan to see if it's something to do with that
