I have a T-Mobile G1 with a micro sd card; trying to sync??
Can I just put the micro sd card into the tray-thingie on my HP laptop? Just plugging in the phone with USB/mini-USB isn't working; the computer recognizes that it's there but I can't find it in my computer...all I want to do is put music via drag-and-drop, or whatever works...

Most mini sd cards come with a full-sized sd card adapter that the mini slips into. You can then slip that in your computer if you have an sd slot or sd reader. You can also buy very inexpensively, a usb port mini sd reader that you can plug directly into your usb port on your computer. Then after you'v dragged and dropped the files, you can put the mini sd back in your phone.

that all depends on the model of your laptop, most current laptops have a slot for a standard sd card, if this is the case you will need a micro sd adapter.
if you dont have a port for an sd card you have 2 options, first you can buy a usb memory card reader (making sure it takes micro sd cards before you purchase) or, most mobile phones take the micro sd card so you can put it in your phone and either plug it into your laptop using a usb cable and try getting them that way, or if you can view the photos on your phone, bluetooth/email them across.
Umm..... did u try formating the card? before you do that backk all info on computer via usb cable. if the G1 says mount to usb go ahead and mount it. in your case it might not work. but try it anyway. if no good goto settings on the G1 then goto SD and internal memory and tap eject SD card then pull it out then push it back into the slot tell me if it works on the PC now.
plug your G1 to your PC via a USB cable that came with it .., once you plug it in you'll get a notification entitled USB connected .. select it and then choose mount ... once thats done open your My computer icon , you'll see an exrta drive that wasn't there be4 somethig like K or M .. open that and you'll see all the content of your SD card .. copy and past everything to a folder anywhere in your computer ... then all you gotta do is replace the SD card , repeat the same proccess but then time copy everything back to your new SD card .
Step 1: Plug in your USB cable to your G1 T-mobile phone as well as the computer. Step 2: On your G1 T-mobile phone you will see a small icon at the top of the screen that symbols the USB. Step 3: Pull down the notification window down and click on USB Connection. Step 4: Automatically on your laptop computer or just computer a window will pop up giving you the option of importing pictures and copying them or just viewing them.
These steps are the correct steps.....T-mobile G1 technical support has not yet modify these steps or include them on the T-mobile G1 manual.
