Question about Toshiba Satellite Computers & Internet
Toshiba L755-S5306 Windows 7 PC Screen Froze while installing Toshiba pushed software updates for BIOS. Upon forced reboot all I have is black screen although battery, HD power seems to come on. Recovery disk boot does not work either. Does Toshiba has any liability in creating this mess? Many customers have same problem on this model while installing this update.

Did You Check to See If Memory is in correctly ?you might have dislodged them by accident please check this !! Can you get back into bios there must be a reason for the black screen like Memory is the computer beeping ? What you can do is use a friends laptop or computer and create a recovery disc on there computer then put that disc into your laptop or you can borrow there windows disc.
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
3.Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Check the BIOS for PC Health settings. It is possible that you have put a low value for "Critical Temperature", which makes the Laptop to turn off.

When you first turn the laptop on is there a HP splash screen? Can you enter the BIOS (normally by tapping F2 or Del key). If so then it would seem the BIOS updated OK. If when you turn it on there is nothing the BIOS flash probably went wrong and the machine will need a new BIOS flash chip installed.
If you can access BIOS then it may be a simple problem that the new BIOS reverted to default values. The most common issue would be the boot mode of the HDD. Look through the BIOS menus and there should be an option for boot which will say AHCI/IDE/Compatibility. Try changing it to another option, save and exit BIOS and see if that helps. Try this for each option.
Alternatively tap F8 continuously when you turn the laptop on and see if the advanced boot menu appears, if it does try selecting Safe mode with networking.
Finally to test if the HDD is actually working, try downloading Hiren's BootCD and boot to it. Then run some HDD diagnostics to see if the HDD is operating correctly.

This laptop came with either XP or Vista on it and if you wish to use Win7 32 or 64bit you must install all of the drivers and preferably make a fresh install. There is only one video driver that will work!
To gain access to the correct drivers, go to Toshiba.com and log your laptop in. The web site will advise you on which drivers you require.
I feel sure that that is the only problem you have that is giving you this headache.
Don't forget unless you load 64bit Win7 you may not be able to utilize more that 2048 Mb of memory.
