SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I built my own pc, it ran great for about 6 months, now when i turn it on the tower beeps 3 times and the monitor says no signal, ive checked all the connections, took the video card out, and cleaned it...

3 beeps is a good indication that video card is dead. Try the card in another slot if possible, or another PC. If it does not work, it is time for a new one. At 6 months old, you may have luck with a warranty. Contact the manufacturer. In the meanwhile, hit up the local PC repair shops for a cheap used card so you can at least limp around the internet while you solve you broken card problems.

My camera keeps asking me to format .starts to then stops , not sure why it wants formating ive only had it a few months and there should be as least 1000 photo,s left for me to use with memory card id...

The lever on your SD card might be turned the wrong way so the SD card is reading protective.
Please turn the lever and try again.

The SD card might not be supported by the model: Your camera Memory card support is SD/MMC up to 2 Gigabyte and SDHC up to 8 Gigabyte

The SD card might not be faulty, try another card, since the camera could give you a message like the one you're experiencing.
Try with a different SD card that is supported by the camera.

Focus error,and memory card problems

A good practice is to format the card in the camera each time you finish downloading your pics to your computer. This optimizes the card. As for your focus error, try a camera reset. Go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Camera Problems

Hey Dealmeister,
I think what your asking is how to format your memory card so the camera can record images to it. Directions on how to do this are on page 73 of your camera manual. To format your memory card you need to go to the setup menu and use the arrow keys to select OK and then press the menu/ok button to start the formatting. According to the manufacturer formatting should take about 15 seconds and will erase all the current images on your card including protected ones so upload any images you have to your computer first.

Sincerely,
Allan

pop out the SD memory card. look for a tiny switch (lever) on the card and move it to the other position (the position that does not say "lock") and try again
