Dhcp error using linksys wireless g wrt54g router to comcast

Each time I try to connect to the internet with comcast through my linksys wireless g wrt54g router, I get an error stating that my network card is assigned a static IP and it needs to be auto. When I went through device manager to check the configuration it states auto for the router and network cards. I also went through ipconfig /all and it shows that auto IP is selected.

The only thing that works is cycling the modem, but I am tired of doing this multiple times a day. How can I set it up correctly?

Cannot contect to apache through wrt54g

Highly unlikely. That would block all HTTP sites that use Apache. Even then, how would they distinguish one web server from another type. Your error is based on a specific site, or all internet if Comcast does not show their splash page saying it can't reach a specific site.

I have comcast cable internet. How do I set up my wireless router to work with this

Connect your router to the Cable Modem using an ethernet cable. On the back of the router, plug the cable into the port labeled "Internet" which should be the port on the far right.

Go to the admin page "192.168.1.1" - change the Internet Connection Type to Automatic Configuration - DHCP.

Cant setup or connect to internet through router

Different ISPs require different configurations. If you have a Linksys router, such as the WRT54G, there are 2 ways on how you can configure it, either by running the Setup CD or by doing manual configuration. This particular router has its own web utility and you can access it by typing its IP addres on your web browser, ex. http://192.168.1.1. By default, it doesn’t have any username and its password is admin.

Once you’re inside the setup page, you can configure now the router for DHCP, PPPoE or STATIC IP settings. For DSL customers using a PPPoE account, some modem needs to be configured into BRIDGE MODE first and then the router will be set to PPPoE with the correct username and password (given by ISP). If your a DHCP account, modem doesn’t require any configuration. It will work with its default setting and the router would be set to DHCP. Once done, powercycle your devices to establish internet connection.

How to cennecting Aztech modem DSL600E with Router linksys WRT54G

First!
Do you have a connection in your modem?
if you do, you need to set up the linksys router in DHCP internet set up.
To have access to the linksys you need to go to:
http://192.168.1.1
The password it's admin
and the username in blank (no password)
change the internet setup to DHCP

Make sure you don't have the Same address for 192.168.1.1 or you modem cause if you do you'll need to change the ip address on the linksys router...

No internet connection when i installed the linksys wireless router

You are using the linksys' self assigned IP rather than integrate the router into your network via something like dhcp configuration and as a result, you can't connect to the internet

Using Linksys WRT54G as router connected to ActionTec with FIOS

You must keep everything on the same subnet. Only allow the router to be DHCP and keep everything on 192.168.1.x subnet. You are going to have alot of problems talking across subnets
