Question about Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware 2008

Open Question

TrendMicro AntiVirus+AntiSpyware disabled internet & bluetooth

Installed TrendMicro's AntiVirus + AntiSpryware yesterday and now the Bluetooth and Internet are not present. The computer cannot even find any wireless networks. However, the other computer (did not install the TrendMicro on this one) works just fine. Disabled TrendMicro and uninstalled it - their tech people gave up after that. Internet provider says there isn't an issue because we can still access from the other computer. HELP!

Hi there, are you able to provide us the settings of this product? It has the feature of "Prevent unauthorized changes" and we would like to know if you can have this feature turned off and check if your Bluetooth and Internet are still not available.

We are looking forward for your response. Thank you!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: pc-cillin 2007 internet security problem

in order to prevent access to your wireless router, log on to your router and setup a WEP key under wireless security. (your Wireless router's setup guide should tell you how to do this) don't forget to print this key as you will need to input it into any device you wish to Authorize to use your wireless network. Re: Pc-cillin, try looking on the manufacturer's website for a patch to solve this issue, or a removal tool to give you a clean start.

SOURCE: Real time protection is disabled in system mechanic pro

Perhaps the scan was interrupted. Run it again and let it finnish all the way and see if that changes anything. Also, check if there are any updates available for the product.

The bluetooth turns on using FN + F11 it should turn the wireless too but doesn't MSI U100

As per the manual the FN and F11 keys turn on both Bluetooth and Wireless so you need to try it will turn bluetooth and then it will turn on wireless, you can check them by LEDS

Press and hold the Fn button, and then press the F11 button
repeatedly to enable or disable the Wireless LAN or Bluetooth function
recurrently.

Wireless LAN and Bluetooth:
Wireless LAN LED indicator glows green when Wireless LAN function is
enabled.
Bluetooth LED indicator glows blue when Bluetooth function is enabled.
Both LED indicators glow green and blue at the same time when both
functions are enabled.
Both LED indicators go out when both functions are disabled.
Note: For flight safety consideration, make sure these two LED indicators
go out when you are in flight.

Let me know if you are able to turn the wireless on

Also i will suggest you check in device manager that you wireless adapter is enabled

I have windows vista ultimate and it will not install service pack 1 it gets so far and then tells me there was an error that caused it not to install . Hence I have not installed service pack 1 or 2...

  1. Close all applications, and then restart your computer.
  2. After your computer has restarted, disable any antivirus or any antispyware applications that may load during the startup process. You can usually disable the application from the notification area. This area is located in the lower-right corner of the computer screen. To disable an application from the notification area, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click the icon of the third-party program.
    2. Click Close, Disable, Exit, or a similar term from the list of options. If these options are not available, you may have to open the application and then close or disable it in the application.
  3. As soon as you close the antivirus or the antispyware application, try to install the full download package for the service pack that you previously downloaded from the following Microsoft Download Center Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads)
  4. After you have completed the service pack installation, enable the antivirus or the antispyware application that you disabled in the previous steps.

Antivirus suddenly stopped Working

Download Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware, Ad-aware and Spybot, and run them all (one after another, not all at the same time) to see if you're not infected by some spyware.

Also run some anti-virus, like Avira - or even the online Trendmicro housecall (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/) to check for viruses.

And do that if possible disconnected from the internet.

If nothing is picked up by those programs, then you can try a system restore to a point where everything worked. Be sure to backup your data first, since you can loose some data with System Restore.

I've already purchased Norton antivirus 2008 with antispyware and loaded but my screen still blue and shows Warning spyware detected in computer & to install antivirus or spyware wich i did.

That blue screen sounds like a trick to me. Many viruses and spywares or the websites that distribute them make beleive that they are causing viruses then provide links to fake antivirus and spyware removal programs that actually make your system worst.

Use the Norton to purchased to do a full deep scan of your system. I also like to supplement my Norton by running the free scan at housecall.trendmicro.com when I suspect there might be a problem on my machine that Norton can't fix.
