Digital frequency for tv sound on Emerson RP6248

I was wandering now that the tv stations have all changed to digital is there any way we can still pick up the TV sound on Emerson model RP6248?

You can't pick up the sound on this radio any more. With the new digital system, sound is digital as well and can only be picked up by a digital tuner. All this radio is good for now is regular radio broadcasting.

You can't buy a radio that picks up the digital sound. At least not yet. Maybe someday someone will offer one, but for now you're out of luck. With the older analog broadcasts, TV sound was on radio frequencies right near the regular FM band so it was easy to tune. Not any more.

I HAVE A PHILIPS 50' plazma and the screen keeps freezing, flickering as it has some kind of interference but we have had an areial engineer to check the signal strengh and said its excellent.what else can...

If it is digital TV, change antenna(UHFonly), and change position of the antenna to get less inteference of digital signal. Signal strength is the TV station carrier frequency, does not help digital video signal integrity. Often if you change channels will reset the digital signal cache and get better pictures.

My radio won't play tv channel 4 sound or any other! please tell me if im doing something wrong!

Since June of last year all television broadcasting switched over to digital signals. Without a converter your radio will not receive any of the stations sound channels. Impossible to modify, only a converter will bring the stations in.

I tried connecting an RCA antenna to get digital stations, but the tv didn't recognize any of the digital stations on the scan. Any ideas?

its very difficult to get digital stations if youre using an indoor standard antenna , unless you have a SPECIAL DIGITAL ANTENNA for indoors , but I suggest an outdoor antenna , the higher ,the better to locate digital stations , AJ

Since Texas went digital I am only getting some of the digital chanels. I have changed it to digital programming but they are not all coming through. What do I need to do?

we need more information:

1) Your city in Texas; so I can look up the stations and find what frequency's they are broadcasting their DTV on.

2) What kind of antenna do you have ?
VHF ? UHF ? Inside ? On the Roof ?

A couple things you can try:

- instead of having the TV AutoScan for channels, manually enter the channel for the TV stations not being received.

- call the TV station you're having trouble receiving: they will ask you where live, what kind of antenna you have etc..

but you really should have a 'roof mounted' antenna that is matched to youre reception needs.

Digital channel numbers are different

The channels for a digital stations are really just "names". Thy will be the number for the old analog channel followed by a "-" and a number 1 through 4. The actually frequency can vary
from the old frequency. You can see this at;
http://www.tvfool.com/

To set up your tv, you will have to connect your signal source (Antenna or Cable) to the set.
Go into the menu and select the Signal source (Channel) to match what you connected.
Go into the menu for scan or auto program and SCAN in the channels in your area.
Now you can watch the stations on your set.

If the broadcast frequency of any station change, you can re-scan it in again. The "name" will not change so the change will be invisible to you.

Can't get all digital channels

There are several possibilities assuming you have an outdoor antenna with the amplification. You are too far from the transmitter or the station is still on a low power digital transmitter until the analog broadcasts end. Additionally, there may be buildings, hills or trees in the way. The first one is called the digital cliff - you either have enough signal for your tuner or you don't. Some stations may need to add transmitters to cover the secondary areas that could still receive the analog signal. The second possibility will either resolve on Feb 18 or June 12 or anywhere in between. (It will depend on your station and the Digital TV transistion delay bill. Some stations are changing frequencies with the transistion and can't go to full power until another analog station moves its frequency.) The last one can't be resolved.
If you have an indoor antenna, you can try moving it around to get better results. My household has an amplified outdoor antenna with a rotator to get the antenna to line up with the signal. We have two analog stations that give problems when we look for their digital signals. We hope the issue will resolve with the changeover since we have seen the signals on both stations improve when they wanted to broadcast football games.

Digital tv not picking up digital signal??

According to the manufacturer, the EWL20D6 Television is not digital ready. If that is the case then you will have to use a converter box in order to receive the digital channels.

Digital or not

Sory to say that this set DOES NOT have the digital tuner required for over-air digital broadcasts. IT does have a digital tuner but only for cable and analog over-air stations. You would only be effected by the chagneover if you uise rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna. If you have cable or satelite or any other subscription TV service, you will not be effected.
