Rockford Fosgate p 325.1 amplifier problem

Alright so my amp (RF p 325.1) has not been working since winter time and I think I have found the problem, the spot on my trunk which I used as the ground was completely rusted up along with the washer and screw and ground terminal. I cleaned up the terminal, got new screw + washer but my amp will not even power up. When I disconnected the ground terminal from the car body, the amp will power up but the thermal light stays on. Is there something wrong with the grounding wires or is my amp messed.

well, if the amp powers on at all with the ground disconnected then there is a ground fault in the amp allowing the body of the amp to be a ground. This could be a hundred different things

Time to invest in a volt meter. A test light can show voltage and not actually be a 12+ volts.. A capacitor will store energy for yoy but first verify correct voltage.

Where is the power input cable on my x6 rockford fosgate amp

RF uses some pretty funky cases in order to hide the wiring.

usually a screw or 2 on the top will allow its removal and expose the wiring terminals

How do u bridge the rockford fosgate p325.1?

Hello... sorry you are having a problem. If you are running the 325.1, that amplifier is strictly a mono-block amplifier (1 channel) so it is not possible to bridge it. There are 2 speaker connections on the amp but both positives and negatives are connected on the circuit board in the amp. Hope this helps. Good luck with your venture.

2 12 p3d212 2 ohm hooking up to a rockford fosgate p325 .1 mono amplifier can it work? and how?

Hello a_brake11,

The P325.1 is relatively small to power a pair of P3's. You'll only get 325 watts RMS at 2 ohms (162.5 watts per sub). The P3's power range is from 100-500 watts, so they will work, but don't expect them to be really loud.

For best power, your subs should be wired with the voice coils in series and then the 2 subs paralleled to the amp resulting in a 2 ohm load.

Hope this helps.

Rockford fosgate 800 a2 amp power?

Hello desperate2le,

Watts delivered is a function of the voltage times the current. If the amp was 100 percent efficient, it would need 33 amps at 12V for 400 watts. At 14.4V, it would only need 28 amps. Of course, amplifiers are NOT 100 percent efficient, only about 50-60 percent in many cases, but somewhat higher for monoblocks, maybe 80-90 percent. So you're looking at a fuse in the 60-80A range. In the absense of a specific fuse size from the manufacturer, I'd start the primary fuse at a 60A and if the amp blows it on power up/immediately/frequently, move up to an 80A.

All of the Rockford-Fosgate 2-channel bridgeables I've ever seen show using the left positive (+) and the right negative (-) for bridging. But if it's not shown right on the amp, I'd call or email RF for the correct connection. The new amps do show it.

Hope this helps.

301x amplifier

Good luck. Rockford Fosgate does not sell or release any service parts/diagrams AT ALL. They want you to buy a new one or send it in to them to be repaired at an exhorbitant price. Also, from my experience, most RF amps are unrepaairable due to their construction design. the outputs are case soldered and cannot be removed individually. Time to upgrade.
