Re: Netgear wg111 - I am connected to wireless network
I have seen issues with wireless USB adapters. Can you try another USB port on the computer? Also delete the adapter and let it br reinstalled. If this does not help, I would suggest returning it and getting a Linksys adapeter.

Ive had a lot of trouble with netgear adapters, id basically buy a decent one instead, but after changing lots of settings then changing them back the only way i managed to connect was to change the router encryption to wep from wpa
You might not be getting a correct ip from your wireless router.
first, try to power down the computer and your netgear router for about a minute or two. turn the router on first. once the lights are stable on the router, boot up your computer. if your still not able to access the internet. try this
go to start > control panel > network and internet > network connections or network and sharing center > right click on wireless network connection and go to properties > highlight "internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" > left click on properties, the wireless network connnection properties will then be opened.
make sure that the radio buttons are on "obtain an ip address automaticaly" & "obtain DNS server address automaticaly".
When you say server I guess you mean a file server. So go into your server and be sure the directory you wish to see is shared, and that you have permission to see it (Be sure file sharing is on and checked). I would recommend you static the ip address on the server (And for the XBox System Static it also). I think the IP addresses for Netgear is (IP- 192.168.0.XX and subnet is 255.255.255.0 and gateway is 192.168.0.1 don't worry about DNS which is givin by you ISP). If you wish to add this info, go to command prompt and type ipconfig /all , this will give you all your network info (If you have internet now). Hope this was some help. Thanks Jimmyriggs
you need to type 192.168.0.1 into address bar on internet explorer if this does not bring up a password prompt then you need to set your ip addresses on both computers this is done by clicking start - my network places - on left view network connections - right click on wireless for wireless and on normal lan for lan - click properties scroll down to tcp ip sttings - right click - click properties - click use the following ip address - type 192.168.0.2 - click sub mask it will auto fill then default gateway needs to be 192.168.0.1 - then click use the following dns server and type 192.168.0.1 click ok and your done for every computer you add to the network you have to change the last digit of the ip address such as 2 then 3 then 4. go back to internet explorer type 192.168.0.1 you will get the password prompt the user-name is admin and password is password
once done you need to check it is connected to the net it should say on the first page. if you need anymore info msm me moc.liamtohat1202gniksirhc

If Internet sharing is set up correctly one pc will be the one that connects directly to internet, the other will connect through a gateway or other device connected to your network.
Check they have'nt both got the same IP address.
Is this related to last problem, did you get the wireless card working wirelessly online?
