Question about Samsung SPN4235 42 in. Plasma HDTV

Power off, several clicks, power back on...repeat

My Samsung HP-T4254 will shut off automatically after about 4 mins, then it will click like it's trying to turn itself back on, then it will turn back on. This whole process will repeat itself over and over until I finally get fed up and leave it off. It occurs whether I plug the power source into the wall socket or the power surge protector. It also happens regardless of the input source dvd/PS2/coax cable etc. At first I thought it was a heat problem because I've noticed the television gets pretty hot after being on for an hour or more, but I placed a fan blowing directly into the vents and that did not remedy the problem. I also removed the back and tried vacuum dusting it. I've noticed that it has gotten a little better. I also checked all the power supply connections when the back was off and didn't see anything loose or out of the ordinary. I contacted Samsung and they said that it's not a common issue and I should have it serviced. Apparently it IS a common problem, and I'd like to take care of it myself if at all possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

Best way to troubleshoot and repair.Buy both power supply board and main backlight video board.Tries new power board first, don't work, tries the new main video baord with the old power supply board, don't work must replaced both new main backlight video board and new power supply board.U can return board unuse for money back later and may have to pay 5% or 10% for restocking fee. These a very common prob. one board or the other, some time both that why buy both for safety, ready to go to troubleshoot and repair.

Samsung hp-t4254 plasma

Hi Rickpo:
After installing the $11 kit and the additional $13 kit recommended by ( mostly surface mount diodes (also available on Ebay), the Samsung HP-T4254 came back on, but would only play for 4 minutes. I found DX801 flowing both directions, replaced it with a diode from Fry's. Works great, $26 total repair costs :-)
