Your best bet would be to take it to your local computer repair shop in the hope they are willing to just help you out as it's a very easy repair. failing that ask them if they have a spare switch of the samae type you need and repair it yourself. they normaly have lots of spare bits lieing around they might just give to you.

I recently moved and when i hooked all of it back

open it up check all the connections memory and add in cards for security.
connect it and try again. Sometimes the bios battery can cause wierd problems, they are usually a 2032 battery on the motherboard. replace it if it's suspect. I would then look at the power supply. Big heavy capitors don't like being dropped, (neither do hard drives for that matter).

Main power button LED is flashing or solid yellow

This is a major problem that crippled Dell. Moels Optiplex Gx260, Gx 280, and Dimensions of whose mdel number i don't remember have this problems. This signal shows that either a power supply or your motherboard is malfunctioning. If you have an insurance better use it now or else get some technical assistance.

I need the LED/power Button Cable Assy. for my Dell Dimension 8200 PC Desktop

Best way to get one of these is to go to a local independent computer service center and ask for what you need. The LED/power button wires are pretty typical in all PCs. So, they should be able to fix you up with little cost.

Need to plug in the power button to the motherboard but can't find any place to plug it into. My system is a dell dimension 8200.

Hello,

The dell Dimension 8200 motherboard like several other Dell boards uses a multi pin header for the power button. This plus is at the front of the board right behind the hard drive connectors. The plus has pins for power, hard drive light, sound, 2 USB ports, power light and microphone. Are you wanting to just coeect the power button and not the other pins? I may be able to get you a pin by pin wiring chart but other things really need to be pugged in too. This board will not work very well without the other things plugged in or if it is not in a Dell case.

Dell Dimension 8200 won't power up

If the power button does not light up at all, I would guess the power supply has a problem.

DELL DImension does not boot

Try removing your RAM handling by the edges, clean the terminals with an eraser and reinsert firmly. Reboot your computer. Make sure you remove static charges from your body by placing your hands on a grounded object.

Dimension 8200 will not turn on

Try a new power button. Also does the machine power light turn on at the front of the machine? if so check that the CPU is seated correctly as if it has come out of position then the machine doesn't boot. I would like to think power switch though.

Thanks J
