Calvary 1TB USB 2Bay external hard drive problem

I bought this and used it for months with no problems. Now, no matter what computer USB access I used (I have tried several from computers we own) it does not show up under My Computer to be accessed. It is running, the fan is blowing and the light is blue. Anyone have any idea what to do. I have data on this that I need to get to. Thanks.

The problem could be the enclosure, not the drive.
I would take the drive out of the Calvary enclosure and install it in another one. Hopefully it will come up and you can access your data.

Hi t rope
It sounds like your hard drive may be faulty, you can try another usb lead to see if this is the problem, otherwise the drive or enclosure may be faulty. Hope this helps.

My computer is broken and unrepairable and I wish to move the external hard drive to another computer. How do I do that? Does the type of computer matter?

The best thing to do is to use the existing hard disk as an external USB hard drive. This will not interfere with or configuring for your new computer.
Install the hard disk into an USB hard drive adapter case and you can access the data on this hard drive as well as storing additional data (ie backup your data).

My computer (HP Pavillion p3101) won't see my external Calvary drive (500 gbcaue37500) It worked a few times and now I can't access it.

Press the start button and right click "my computer"-> Manage -> Storage -> disk management. It can take up to a minute before displaying your discs. Rightclik your 500 gbcaue37500 and and depending on what's avaible;
Change from offline to online
initialize
Assaign a drive letter to the drive

Sony Vaio laptop could not access 1TB external hard drive

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use this data recovery program to recover your files.

I have a calvary 1tb external hard drive and my computer is not recognizing it

I have found that computers 5 years and older often have problems recognizing Terabyte hard drives. If you know what motherboard you have i can look it up for you, but if it is an older computer, the motherboard likely wont support the size.

My external hdd used to be reconized and accessable by my computer but after several uses all it does is make a buzzing sound. My computer will not reconize its presence until after it is shut down.

Hi

Its not a software issue with your computer or external hard drive but a hardware issue with the external hard drive. You'll need to get your Iomega hardrive checked from Imomega, hope its under warranty. You can reach them at--

External Hard drive iomega support

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
