Question about Panasonic PT-50LC13 50" Rear Projection HDTV

Open Question

I Have a Panasonic PT60DL54 50? big screen TV and I turns itself off it will turn on and play a DVD with a perfect pitcher for about 30 sec to 1:30 sec and then the screen goes black and the power button starts blinking red and the (Lamp) light in the front of the TV blinks although the lamp is not lit I can still here a fan running and it will not stop until I unplug the TV. The TV won?t even turn on until I unplug it and then re plug it back in the wall. The TV is no longer under any warranty its about 3 years old and has never done this before the lamp has been replaced 2 times. And this lamp has been in the TV for about one year. I don?t want to spend over $500 to get it fixed?.. Please help me if you can.

Having similar issue with my PT-44LCX65. Lamp blew and replaced it (last month), never figured out how to reset timer. Now red indicator light blinks once every 5 seconds and after about 4 minutes TV goes black.... Any ideas?

SOURCE: please help

That is the blink code for the lamp ballast. Here is the more complicated explanation from the service manual.

IC2301(pin11) detects the error of LCD Power C.B.A. and Lamp,
then indicates the error when an inner malfunction of LCD Power
C.B.A. occurs, the Lamp voltage becomes more than 130V or
less than 30V, Lamp current becomes more than 5A, or the Lamp is blown

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My Panasonic tv pt53wx53g wont turn on it blinks 3 red lights

The 3 blinks is a error code for the convergence circuit. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at the following link which contains both Convergence ICs and all six feed resistors and they include step by step instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair yourself. Heres a link to the proper kit for your model Panasonic.

Panasonic TC-P42X1 acts like it is turning on, the screen turns black, then the tv shuts itself off and back on again.

Rule out any loose contacts in power outlet, RC Jack, cables and connectors. The problem described by you calls for opening the back cover and further investigation, which should only be done by a qualified service technician.

No screen saver

depending on your tv there is a function to turn screen off. most tvs come with this feature. on the remote there will be an power key with a red or black button. this is to turn the screen off. if it does not have this function and there is no screen saver setting on the dvd play there is not much you can do for this situation .

Prima HDTV has a black screen on TV, but works fine while Playing DVD

try turning the channel up or down with the tv remote to input 1 or 2 depending on which one is being used for the dvd player. tv should use input 1. dvd should be on input 2.
when turning the channel set it to show the dvd screen, then go up 1. if it doesn't show, return and go down 1.

Tv turns itself off

At a guess, I would say no.

Your plasma TV likely uses an IR remote control, and although I have seen compatibility issues between IR remote devices, it is extremely rare.

The best way to test it is to remove the skybox and see if that solves the problem.

No channel available

Unplug it for 10 secs and plug it back in then wait 10 more seconds and turn it on with the on/off switch. Unplugging makes it reload the firmware, but on/off does not. If that doesn't work try a factory reset. For my Panasonic you do this. Open front door to get at the buttons. Turn TV off. Press and hold the OK button and at the same time press and HOLD the on/off switch for about 3 secs. You should get a self check screen that will last a little while and then the TV will go to the menu screen.
