Question about Cub Cadet Street Sign- tractor lawn riding mower parts
The engine surges and eventaully stalls, but will restart immediately. I have removed the top half of the carburetor and cleaned the parts and the fuel resevoir and sprayed the ports with a carb cleaner. I have replaced the fuel line and the fuel filter. With the aircleaner off, I can see gas erupt up out of the carburetor as it surges.
Replace the fuel cap!!! The problem is that hte fuel cap vents from it's underside. In so doing it sucks up all of the grass debris and dust that hte mower deck kicks up and the vents get clogged up. As the engine uses the gas, it builds up a vacuum in the tank and the gas can no longer flow from the tank to the engine.

If this is a Kohler engine, the surging is probably from the engine starving for fuel. Try replacing the fuel pump.
