Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I need to reset it to factory settings

My MP3 player won't sync new music on because it already has music on it. Can someone tell me how to reset it or remove the music? It's an Electro Brand MP3 player with 4GB, an FM radio and it's a model MP2618PMO Thank you, Bev Ann

Windows Media Player 11 ruins this player. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and roll back to Windows Media Player 10. Then use version 10 to sync songs to your device.

Press the Home button and see if it will go to the settings menu. If it will, change the USB Mode to Auto. If it won't, hold in the power on/off button for 15 seconds to reset the player, and try again.

I have an NWZ-E436F, when I try to start it it stops at the creating library page and shuts back down, already been reset and is fully charged, any thoughts?

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings. Then If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

I have a sylvania mp4 smpk1021.i wanted to put new playlists on and deleted the old ones. it said "empty disk".i try to add new playlists, but songs that have already been added before are somehow still on...

is it posible to format the whole player from the computer or reset the player so that all the files are erased from it so you can add new playlists, like doing a hard reset to factory settings and erasing everything if it is possible to format it from the computer i wouldnt do it if it shows files that the player needs when you plug it in to the computer but i suggest doing a hard reset on it heres the manual link http://www.curtisint.com/web/browser.asp?productID=SMPK1021&catName=&brand=SYLVANIA&manual=SMPK1021 it might tell you in there how to hard reset it or how to fix it

Adding songs

When you sync, you are telling Windows Media player to make the player match what is currently in your sync list. So if you removed the first 110 from your Windows Media, that is why they disappeared from the player.

You don't need to use Windows Media player to add songs. Simply open Windows explorer, double-click your Sandisk device, double click the music folder, then drag and drop any files you want into the folder.

Mp3 won''t work

I've never heard of audio CD being block before from playback. Try this:

Reset your Ipod back to factory settings.

Drag and drop your songs from Itunes into your player. Do not use playlists.

Playback the songs from Itunes using the Ipod player as the file location. If playback is working, undock you Ipod from the computer and play again using the MP3 player.

New mp3

Plug it into the usb port on the computer. Your computer will let you know when it has recognized it and when its ready to use in a bubble on the bottom right of your screen. Assuming you mp3's on you computer already, you now have 2 options to put music on it.
Option 1: Go to "my computer" and find the "removeable drive E" (the E may be a different letter). Open it up. It should be empty. Now open the folder where you store your music on your computer. Either drag and drop or copy and paste the songs from your music folder into the empty "removable drive E" folder. Safely remove the Delstar and its ready.
Option 2: Open Windows Media Player and select the Sync tab. Build a playlist. Then click the "start Sync". When its finished safely remove the Delstar and its ready.

Unable to sync new music to player

I had a similar problem with my daughter's mp3 player, here is how I was able to fix it:

1. download the firmware software from here
2. unzip & install the software from step 1.
3. remove the battery from your mp3 player
4. start the software
5. hold down the play/pause button while attaching the mp3 player (via usb cable) to your computer
6. once the software's button labeled "start" is activated you can set down the mp3 player (you don't need to hold the play/pause button anymore).
7. check the box to format your data area (this will remove the mp3s, but is needed to get this to work properly again)
8. Click start and follow the on screen instructions

This worked for me... also, make sure your directory names + filenames are not overly long as this seems to be part of what is causing this problem.
