there is no timing spec . the air gap is .010 to .012. or .254 mm to .305 mm.open the gap all the way up and tighten the screws.bring the flywheel magent to the coil making sure that both sides of the coil is on the magnet.slide the gapping tool in and the magent will hold it in place.once it's there release the screws holding the coil and the magents wiil pull the coil to it.once it's there retighten the screws and your done.

Probably needs a carb kit, check main jet and main fuel inlet jet, is the spark crisp, fat and powerful, try running it with a borrowed coil as this may have an intermittent fault. Is fuel cap breather working or blocked, these small carbs are very sensitive. Make sure all is well with gaskets and diagrahms. Good luck the Yeti

SOURCE: how to change blades
Use a large pair of pliers to hold the turning metal ring above the T35 trimmer head. I used a medium-sized pair of Channel Lock pliers. Then, turn the trimmer head counter-clockwise and it should unscrew from the mount. There's no need to open the trimmer head for this operation. Then, follow the parts diagram in the trimmer user manual to install the blade parts in the right order.

Doesn't sound like piston and ring problem. Sounds more like the flex shaft that connects to the engine may have an end that is worn not allowing for the extra load when you connect the attachments. Check the ends of the top flex shaft.

SOURCE: removeing string head assembly
Pry the plastic cap off, then you will have access to the bolt. Other kinds have a nut that you unscrew. If you are just going to restring it, you can push in and turn the head for it to come off.
