SOURCE: water leaking underneath refrigerator/water freezing in bottom of freezer

I'm dealing with the same problem right now with the same refrigerator. The cold water tank (for the front dispenser) has a hole in it that leaks every time someone dispenses water from the front door. You will find the water tank behind the top slide-out drawer in the fridge. The leaked water flows down one of the water tubes through a hole in the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor. I'll bet you have the same problem. Good Luck.

SOURCE: Where is the drain located?

Hi, The drain is located behind the rear inside freezer panel. Remove the panel and find the drain hole under the evaporator coils.

I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Water is pooling in the bottom of the freezer

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer

SOURCE: water drip at base of freezer door at bottom!

Have you had a chance to locate the location the water inside freezer? There are many reasons for this to happen I just can not say it would be a defrost condensate drain blockage. Most times it is. Every 8 to 10 hours your freezer defrost and the water is surposed to follow a pipe or drain through the refrigerator to a pan below refrigerator where the warm air from condenser evaporates the water back to the air inside your home. That drain line sometimes slowly becomes blocked and then the drain hole becomes clogged with ice. Once that happens the drain needs to be cleared. I will try to help you solve this so for now I need you to see if water looks as if it came from rear of freezer. Placing photos on Flickr would be great! So tell me where you see it and yes we may need to pull a few things out. This is nothing a few towels, hair dryer hot water and Clorox and a wet vacuum cannot handle. Sea Breeze

Water draining into freezer Maytag MFX2570AEM

Certainly should be, if it is a blocked drain tube and not a broken fan or defrost unit.
Assuming this appliance to be a frost free unit, generally (as I don't know this particular unit), there should be an outside access panel on lower rear of unit. Behind this, you should see the compressor (large round or square sealed container) and a drain tube leading to it or to a receptacle on it, which allows the defrost water to drain from the freezer compartment, and evaporate using the heat of the compressor. It will be this drain tube that may be block with food debris or even (as I found on mine) a plug of mould. My tube just pulled off and I was able to completely clean through with fresh water. Inside the freezer, there must be a drain channel leading to the drain tube outside. This may be visible or hidden behind panelling and, If the outside drain tube was blocked, will probably be full of iced up defrost water and will need to be cleared, either by leaving unit switched of or, by careful use of a hair dryer - GENTLY - so as not to warp the plastic insides. Once this is cleared, ice can then melt off the hidden freezer grills when on defrost cycle and escape correctly to the outside for evaporation.

Inside of my refridgerator is leaking water underneath the freezer, its about 7 years old. would like to know how i can get it fix without the expense or if i can do something else i would appreciate any...

The drain in the freezer behind back lower panel
needs opening. You can see it at the bottom of the back panel
underneath the evaporator coils. (The cold coils)
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? it overflows into the ref.
Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
If this was helpful please rate me.

Water in freezer bottom and water leaking out from

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section underneath the evaporator coil. Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

My Jenn-air refridgerator freezer section leaks water and builds up on bottom of freezer, defrosts then leaks out

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain. when the unit self defrosts, the meltwater from the evaporator is supposed to go down a drain under evaporator, to a condensate pan underneath. when this drain gets clogged at any point, the water then drips into the freezer floor, freezes, eventually over fills the floor, and leaks onto kitchen floor. Do not try to snake out the drain, as it is plastic and usually not permanently attached, snaking can damage or dislodge the tubing, making problems worse. If you have a compressor, you can direct some compressed air into the drain to clear out any obstructions. Again, use caution against too much pressure, to avoid dislodging tube. Any reliable refrigerator repair service shouldnt charge much more than $100 to resolve this issue.

I have ice accumulating at the bottom of my JennAir side by side refridgerator on the freeezer side. any idea why ?

First make sure the door is sealing properly.
If it is at the bootom of the freezer behind the backpanel is a drain hole this has become clogged. To unclog try some warm water and a piece of wire. Pour in about a cup of warm water to melt the ice then run a wire down the tube. This is where the water from the defrost cycle goes. There is a drain pan underneath to catch the water. for a diagram go to www.appliancehelponline.com and enter your model #.

Kenmore Refridgerator leaking water into refridgerator compartment from freezer compartment

You most likely have a clogged drain. When you freezers goes into defrost every 8 to 10 hours. The frost that is melted during the defrost drains from the freezer either down through the fridge or out the back and down. Either way it drains into a pan under the fridge. This tube is either clogged or the drain it's self inside the freezer is. Most of the time I find peas stopping the water from draining from the freezer. When the water can't drain it leaks through the bottom of the freezer into the fresh food section of the fridge. You will need to fix this because it will cause other problems. The water that cant drain from the freezer refreezes and will end up destroying the foam in the bottom of the freezer. Water will also leak onto the controls located in the part between the freezer and fresh food section ruining you controls.
