Phaser printers are rated on a page-per-minute basis. This encompasses print engine speed only, and does not take into account processing time or file transfer rates.
Total print time is affected by many factors, some of which are listed below:
Application collation requires the printer to process every page of the document N times (5 sets of a 10 page document = 50 processed pages). To avoid collating from an application level, ensure the collate box (see figure below) is not checked when in the print dialog box (ie selecting file/print).
Note: Always use the latest drivers from the Software and Drivers web site. Once the driver is configured correctly, print speed will be optimized.
