SOURCE: TLP 2844 skips over labels

The first thing I would do is to default the printer then run a width calibration. The instruction are in the user's manual that should have come with the printer. If the instruction did not come with the printer I can provide the instruction.

SOURCE: Zebra 105 SE Printing Blank Labels

Seagull Scientific has drivers. Their Zebra driver is recommended by many.
http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/drvrmain.aspx

That's the link for their printer drivers page. Go to the bottom and click on 'Download a printer driver'. Then scroll the list to find the one you need.

SOURCE: TLP 2844 skips 15-16 labels then prints intended label

It sounds like they may need to set their "Q" values for the labels they are using.   If that isn't it, we may need more info - are they using Zebra brand or custom labels?
To start with, I would ask them to try adding these "Q" value commands: q456 Q152,24
If that doesn't work, then maybe they can provide the other info mentioned above so we can understand the problem better.

SOURCE: Zebra S4M - Print quality problems - not keeping Thermal Transfer

If you are using a windows printer driver then perhaps you have "Direct Thermal" selected in the printer preferences. The driver setting will override anything you have set in the printer. So every time you send a new print job the settings get changed to what they are in the driver.

SOURCE: my zm400 keeps reverting back to direct thermal

did it stay on direct thermal if you not doing any print job ?
then i assume you the problem is when you printing .In ZEBRA DESIGNER, there's a printing preference that can be set up... i think u selected direct thermal when you print with zebra designer, that's why whenever u start printing, it show RIBBON IN again.
the solution is, Just changed the printing method from zebra designer.

if you aren't using zebra designer, then the problem at your driver. Open Printer & Faxes, then right click your Printer and klik on Printing Preferenced. There u can set up the printing method to Thermal Transfer.

The thing is....... changing the Setting from LCD panel won't change the setting on the driver.

i hope this will help you

I have ZP450 printer. There is a squeez noise during printing starting today. What's going on and how to fix it?

Hello,

Sometimes you will get that noise from buying alternative ribbons or using originals that are too tight. Best way to know is by replacing ribbon for a new one and checking if the noise goes away.
If that doesn't help, please send me an e-mail at support@purplu.com

Can my thermal transfer (TT) printer print on any label?

The answer is no. The labels must be specifically coated with a thermal transfer overprint. Most flexo printed labels have a UV varnish to protect them, that does not print very well in a thermal transfer printer. You must let your label printer know before the labels are made that you need a thermal transfer overprint and no UV coating.

Also, see my tip "How to determine the formula of ribbon you need"

When i try print the label..no output at the label..how to test whether the ink is function or not

I'm including this link to the users manual:

http://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/resource_library/manuals.results.html

But here is the basic troubleshooting info for that issue

No print on the label. The media may not be direct thermal media when printing without ribbon (i.e. thermal
transfer). See the test procedure

Determining Thermal Media Types on page 29.
• For thermal transfer printers, the media may not be outside wound or approved for use in
the G-Series printer. See the following ribbon test procedures: Ribbon Test with Adhesive
on page 32

and Ribbon Scratch Test on page 33.
• Is the media loaded correctly? Follow the instructions for

Loading Roll Media on page 11
in the Getting Started section. For printing using transfer ribbon, see

Loading Transfer Ribbon
on page 14.

In the barcode printer showing ribbon out. I change the print method from " THERMAL TRANSFER TO DIRECT TO DIRECT THERMAL " and saved. Again come the same problem RIBBON OUT. How I solve the problem....

You need to change the print method from thermal transfer to direct thermal. There are three places to do this:
- on the printer itself - in the printer driver (this will override the setting in the printer and be the default setting for any new labels crested) - in the print properties of a specific label (this will override the two settings previously listed) The last option works best if you are switching label stock or ribbon in and out for different labels.

Were the new labels thermal paper? Thermal printers need specially made paper to work right.

PRINTER IS NOT PRINTING rUNS NORMASL JUST NOT PRINTING

Check the settings. If the printer is set for thermal DIRECT and you have thermal transfer labels, this will be the result. Thermal direct requires thermal sensitive labels. Thermal transfer requires a ribbon.

Hope this helps,

Every time I print a label, the label comes out.

Have a look at the way the driver is setup, by sound of it you might have it set for thermal transfer, it needs to be set to direct thermal. Thermal Transfer is for the TLP2844. the next time you print will send the changes to the printer
