on the back of the door is a plastic housing put your hand on the side of the housing near to the hinges, you will feel a small push button.
Press it once the unit will beep and the far right led will illuminate.
key in your new code (8 digits) then press either A or B.
ouch.... that key needs to be kept outside the safe. when you put in the known code are you pressing A or B after it. On my safe the code is entered followed by pressing the A or B key which was not part of the code.

If you look into the safe from the back through the small holes (that are made for attaching the safe on a wall ) you will need a torch you should be able to see the reset button which is usually red, located around the battery housing on the back of the safes door , if you press this using say a chop stick or any thin long object you should be able to reset the numerical code if you follow the instructions on how to reset the code , thus then been able to open the safe.
I just had the same problem because the battery had died, luckily I didn't sleep through all of my science classes so I got the wifes hair dryer, warrmed up the outer shell of the safe for about 10 minutes which allowed the batteries once last gasp and opened the safe. Changed the batteries and good to go.
Now my question - this is a secustar wall safe and ' thought it came with a key that I can't find nor can I foind a spot to use a key? how do I know if it is the model that uses a key ?
have just had the same problems if you had the key there is a red button inside the door to reset the code but obviously no key no red button I have the sandleford number to call 03 97750699 or try the factory pre set 159 A or B see how you go
