Kenmore freezer keeps opening

We have a Kenmore top freezer refrigerator. The freezer door opens when we close the refrigerator. Is there an easy fix. It's annoying to have the alarm go off all the time, although I'm glad it alerts us that it is open.

Could also be that the unit is not entirely level and the shock from closing the fridge is releasing the air seal in the freezer and making it pop open.

Tweak the hing locations on the freezer side to make it swing closed. sounds like it is tweaked to the other way.

The bottom freezer door on my Kenmore refrigerator 795.7900 pops open each time I close the top door. I have tried adjusting the leveling screws and it hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Glen you keep adjusting but before that try to find this unusual problem. On its own, doesthe freezer door close witha thud? If not it needs adjustment otherwise other problems could surface.

The top freezer door opens slightly and then reseals whenever the lower refrigerator door is closed

The lower section is connected to the top section through a common opening in the freezer floor. Shutting the bottom, being it is larger, will force air to open the top door. I installed a roller for a cabinet on top of my fridge to keep the door from pumping open. It is used to keep children out of cabinets. It is a roller wheel mounted on a spring loaded arm. It keeps the freezer shut until we open it. Some times the pumping action will force the door open enough it will not shut and things get soft. Hope this Helps Fix Ya up.

I just bought a new Kenmore fridge and everytime we close the fridge door the top freezer door pops open. I notice there are a couple of complaints about that. Can this be fixed?

THE UNIT HAS TO HAVE A GOOD TILT TO THE BACK,, THIS HELPS THE AIR BEING PUSHED THROUGH THE FREEZER WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED, AND IT HELPS WHEN THE UNIT GOES INTO DEFROST, IT HELPS DRAIN THE WATER ,, ALL NEW TOP MOUNT REFRIGERATORS THAT I HAVE CAME ACROSS DOES THIS IF IT IS NOT TILTED BACK

Freezer door opens each time we close refrigerator door

This is an easy one to fix - at the bottom of your unit you have 2 adjustable wheels you can turn to raise or lower the unit. What you need to do is turn those clockwise which will raise the front - what you want is to have it slightly tilted to the back. As a test you can open your door 45 degrees and leave it - it should be able to close on its own.

Moisture

Are the air vents blocked in the refrigerator? Remove any
objects from in front of the air vents. See "Ensuring Proper Air
Circulation" for the location of air vents.
Are the door(s) opened often? To avoid humidity buildup,
try to get everything you need out of the refrigerator at once,
keep food organized so it is easy to find, and close the door
as soon as the food is removed. When the door is opened,
humidity from the room air enters the refrigerator. The more
often the door is opened, the faster humidity builds up,
especially when the room itself is very humid.

Kenmore - over under

Adjust the feet to raise the front of the frige, which should be higher than the back. Therefore the weight of the door will keep it shut or at least cause it to shut itself if it pops open.

Frost inside freezer door

there is a small electric heater along the door gasket where you see the frost building up, this heater has apparently stopped working. this will also cause the door to pop open due to a poor seal. feel around where the door gasket contacts the refrigerator and it should feel a little warm. if not then a service company can replace those heaters. should not be too expensive.
