Question about Mozilla Firefox

Firefox blinking cursor is no longer active in the search fieldon start up. Have to constantly move the mouse pointer for every web site searched.

In private browsing mode & regular mode, have to constantly click on search field to search any web sites. Previously this was not necessary.

  • Simple uninstall Firefox
  • Download the latest version from the website
  • Reinstall it.
Its not worth even thinking about fixing manually when its such a small download.

SOURCE: too many scripts on a webpage slows down browsing

The advice of W3AG is that all websites using javascript or video intros or flash advertising, should have a link on the page to allow skipping of these objects. The reason for this is the big variation in connection speeds, house to houes, country to country.
I agree, the site is loaded, and on a slow connection, may time out. I'd advise contacting Macquarie and telling them this and asking for "skip it " links on their pages. Nothing else you can do other than upgrading to a faster speed connection.

Blinking cursor changes shape, little flag

What OS are you running?
If you are worried about a key logger then run a virus/malware/root kit scan. If you want to get even more in detail run a chkdisk from the
C:\ prompt and look for unindexed files. Better yet get a program like Malwarebytes (shareware) or Spybot Search and Destroy (Free) online and run those to root out potential pesky bugs. Stay off free download sites and virus check everything you download before installing. That is why they call them Trojans as they are piggybacked on legit programs or movies you download online.

Logitech mouse right click too sensitive

Your computer mouse has preferences to make it easier to use. You can change the style and of the pointer, and you can change the sensitivity, which controls how easy or difficult it is to scroll across the screen. Speeding up the mouse sensitivity can allow you to move your cursor across the computer screen faster, while slowing it down can give you better control but you may have to move the mouse a greater distance to get your cursor to where you want it.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and type "mouse" into the Search field. Click on the "Change Mouse Settings" link in the search results. Click on the "Pointer Options" tab. Move the Motion slider bar to the right for a faster speed and to the left for a slower speed. Click "Apply" to apply the settings. Move your mouse to see if those are the settings you would like. If not, adjust the slider bar again. When you find the right setting for you, click "OK" to save the settings and close the window.

Click the Windows "Start" button or press the "Windows" key. The "Start" menu opens.

Type "Cursor blink" in the "Search programs and file" text box.

A list opens.

Click "Change Cursor Blink Rate." The "Keyboard Properties" window opens.

Click the "Speed" tab. A list of options appears.

The "Cursor Blink Rate" section shows a "Cursor Blink Rate" slider displaying a range from "None" to "Fast."

Click and drag the slider button to the "None" area in the far left portion of the "Cursor Blink Rate" scale.

Click "Apply."

Missing Cursor on Firefox

Hi there Lauren,

I think I've got you covered on this one.
I'd like to offer up a two solutions.
One may be the solution to the disappearing cursor.
Failing that, the other addresses the symptoms, instead of the problem, sort of a sideways solution. Hopefully the result will be satisfactory.
  • Click Start
  • Click Control Panel
  • Double-Click Mouse
  • Click on the Pointer Options Tab
  • In the Visibility Box, is the 'Hide cursor while typing' option checked?
  • If so, uncheck it.
  • If not, below it is an option to 'Show location of cursor when I press Control Key'. Check it.
  • Click Apply. Click OK
If the first option doesn't fix the mystery, the second will show the location of the cursor when you press the Control Key. One or the other will make that cursor show itself.

POINTER FREEZES THEM MOVES THEN FREEZES DRIVING ME NUTS. THANKS

When this behavior is observed when using a Logitech product withinWindows® XP, it may be caused by a feature within Windows called"enhanced pointer precision". This feature may conflict with Logitech's software, causing the erratic movement. Enhanced pointerprecision became available in Service Pack 2 and therefore is notapplicable in any version of Windows® XP without Service Pack 2installed. For more information on enhanced pointer precision, please click HERE. If this link does not work, then you should go to Microsoft and search for Knowledge Base article 895550.

Please see these articles from the Logitech database for possible troubleshooting tips as well:
