I put new batteries in Transmitter and never got any temp reading. The unit is less than 2 years old and is not working. Is there anything I can do?

  • Remove all batteries
  • Install new batteries in transmitter
  • Wait for transmitter to initialize and begin transmitting temperature data
  • Install known-good batteries in receiver
  • Observe outdoor temperature reading
If this doesn't work, the transmitter or receiver or both may be defective. I find in very cold weather the transmitter stops sending the temperature.

Usually synching requires one device started before the other, meaning that you may want to power on the transmitter, then turn on the heli and try the heli first, then the transmitter second if that doesn't work. Otherwise there's usually a small button that is pressed to get the two devices talking to each other.

The new batteries could be defective or installed incorrectly. Remove all batteries and start over again. Be sure to let the transmitter initialize and begin sending data before you install the batteries in the receiver. If you can't receive a signal, the transmitter may have failed.

The remote start works (starts the vehicle) only when the fob is very near (inside) the controller.

First check the battery voltage. A good new battery will be about 3 volts. If it is significantly less, get a new battery and retry. Examine the battery contacts since you have the remote apart to ensure that they are clean and shiny. If they are dull, use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. If you are still getting poor range you can try to reprogram the remotes to the OEM keyless entry system. The procedure follows.

Transmitter Code Programming

Note: The receiver (ETACS module) can save maximum two codes from the transmitter.

1. Apply the battery voltage to the terminal "6" of DLC (Data Link Connector),{see attached image}. The DLC is located on the left side rear of the engine compartment. The wire color for terminal #6 is red/black.

2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.

3. While coding one transmitter.
Press the lock button of transmitter for 3 seconds over until the turn signal lamp turns off.

4. While coding two transmitters.
Press the lock button of one for 1 second while the turn signal lamp turns on, and then press the lock button of the other for 1 second over until the turn signal lamp turns off.

5. Remove the battery voltage, and then the transmitter code is re-saved on the receiver.

6. Check the operation of the keyless entry system.

If you still experience poor range, you may need the system serviced or the remote replaced.

Having issues getting the garage door opener to work after expecting the code

Are you having problems while using the remote transmitter, but not the local control? Try changing the battery in the remote unit. If the battery is new, the transmitter may be drifting it's output frequency somewhat causing poor execution. Do you have two transmitters and one works better than the other? Either have the poor transmitter checked by the dealer or buy a new transmitter--whichever is cheaper. Hope this helps!
