The hole in the tank is slightly smaller than the fuel line, else it would leak. So.. you can't push it in, you have to pull it in. I use a label tag wire (about 10" long), stick it through the hole and out the fuel cap hole. Snip the fuel line at an angle on the end, punch a hole in it then stick the wire through the line and twist it. Now you can pull the line through the hole.

I need to ask. Did you leave fuel mix in it for a long time? If so then the carburetor will need to be cleaned with a special cleaner. and not the spray can stuff.

On a homelite model 26 bv blower Does the gas tank filter connect to anything

The filter fits on the end of the fuel pickup line inside the gas tank. If you see the filter just rolling around in the tank it probably has hardened or damaged fuel lines. Size them up and get replacement lines online or at your local outdoor equipment retailer.

How to change my gas line on a 17 inch 25cc gas weedwacker trimmer/edger

basically this is a very simple thing to do as long as you have purchased the correct size of hose. Before removing the fuel line from the tank remove it from the carburetor. then you need a small bent wire or something like it to fish the filter out of the fuel tank. When you have that done you need to remove the filter and just pull the fuel line out. When you install the new line in the tank you need to snip the new fuel hose at an angle to help in the ease of re installing it. Once you get it started you can either reach into the tank with needle nose pliers and pinch it so you can pull it back into the tank. Or you can just twist it in a circular motion until it feeds itself into the tank. The rest is common sense. Install the fuel line filter and put it back into the tank then suck a little gas up the line so the carburetor don't have to do it. that'll prime the line and make it easier for the trimmer to start.

The fuel filter in the tank could be plugged, a fuel line gone bad, or the primer bulb has cracked, gotten hard, or otherwise rendered useless. It's possible that the lower chamber diaphragm in the carburetor is bad--hardened or cracked. The primer is supposed to pull fuel from the filter in the tank, into and through the carburetor, then out to the primer bulb, then back into the tank through another line. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetors--very helpful. Hope this helps!

My Homelite trimlite trimmer will only run in the choked position. When I switch the choke lever to run it dies. What could be the problem

Could be a dirty fuel filter or cracked fuel line. The filter is usually inside the tank. You should be able to take the cap off and turn the unit upside down and shake it so that the filter drops from the tank. If not then grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers. If changing the filter or replacing the lines doesn't work, the carburetor might need to be cleaned.

Best Poulan Engine Match (probably real manufacturer):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/BC2400-Gas-Trimmer-Type-6/75.BC2400-Gas-Trimmer-Type-6.1.59.1.html

My decisions are being driven by my experience with Poulan chainsaws. Small hose in tank (long enough to reach all corners), filter on bottom, connects to lowest connection on carburetor. Small hose on upper carburetor connection to small fitting on primer. Large hose from large connection on primer through largest tank hole, roughly mid tank long. nothing on bottom. I suggest you leave the 2 connections on the carburetor long enough they can be swapped (just in case) then try it. if no go swap them.

Typical fuel system and a suggestion or two:

This is how I would configure it if a chainsaw, doubtful they would do something completely different. In defense of Jerry, he knows how it should be done, clarity of instruction could use some help. Good Luck. HTH

Saw idles and then quits like it is running out of gas

Check the muffler for plugging. Check the fuel lines for cracking, hardening, or other decay. Check the diaphragm in the carburetor for hardening or cracking. Make sure the carburetor mounting screws or nuts are tight. Check the filter at the end of the fuel line in the fuel tank for plugging. Increase idle speed slightly. Adjust L carburetor adjustment a little CCW. Hope this helps!

Gas line cracked and nipple fell back into tank ..how do I remove gas tank to replace gas line and nipple????..ryobi 725r trimmer

Empty the tank by dumping into a can or something. Shake the trimmer around until the "nipple" falls out. Get a replacement fuel line and follow their instructions. When yoou put the tube back into the tank, have something that you can guide the line through the hole with. I used a small hex wrench. If you cut the tip of the tube at a sharp taper, it will be much easier to start through the hole. You might think of replacing the return line as well. You should not have to remove the tank if you expose the carb and remove the air filter...Good luck...Lee

Craftsman weedwacker keeps dying

If the weedwacker runs OK on 1/2 choke or even better on full choke then most likely the cause is the carb gaskets are stiff and can no longer pump the fuel. Of course make sure the fuel lines are are the right ports (return and supply). While you have the carb apart clean all of the passages with carb cleaner.
