The water-fill SENSOR is what Samsung calls the "Case-Brake Assembly". It's the big transluscent plastic thing on the left-side of the dishwasher.

there could be 1 of 2 problems with your unit and it`s not the start switch, if the water is not filling the likely problem is ether a defective water level censor unit, it is located at the end of a rubber tube and is disc shaped with the tube at the bottom and a wiring harness at the top, the other possibility is a defective water control solenoid located at the inlet of the water hoses, you can easily check the solenoids with an ohm meter, check for continuity across the 2 contacts located on the solenoid , the easier way to check the solenoids is if you use cold water only in you wash, select hot water, this will enable the hot water solenoid, if it still dos not fill then it is your water level censor that is defective.

My washing machine , a hotpoint wdd960 , wont stop filling with water , i had problem since the frosty weather when water froze. i have took top of machine and all electrics are soaked, it is 3 years old ....

you will find at the drum bottom there is a 5mm pipe leading to the water censor remove it and blow gently into it you should hear a click and one when you release the air this means that the censor is ok but the small pipe where you took the pipe from is blocked not allowing the air pressure to build up to tell the controller that water is full enough to continue to the next cycle clean out the small pipe with a pipe cleaner, dry the parts of the machine with a hair dryer eric

Says fill watertank, water tank is full. Have emptied and refilled, checked for blockages...nothing will work.

There is a little black float inside of the water tank. When the water level is increases it raises the float triggering a magnetic censor telling the computer that the water level is adequate. The float may be stuck. when you fill the tank, make sure the float raises with the water level. if this is not the problem then it is possible that your censor is bad.

My washer keeps draining water during the fill cycle. It pumps the water out as fast as the water is going into the tub. This only happens on the normal cycle-other cycles work OK.

it could be the programer at fault or,,,there is a small pipe from the bottom of the tub that gos to a censor at the top of the washer its the over fill censor pull off the pipe from the censor at the top and blow down it if there is any yuck in it this should clear it out and it may then work ok

Sometimes when I turn on the wash cycle it will fill with water and complete the whole cycle and sometimes water will not come into the machine what could be causing this?

if this is a mechanical timer that controls the cycles. your timer may need replacing but it will not finish the cycle and pause on the fill mode, for the machine will not continue to cycle until the water level has reached your selected load size, a poor/faulty connection at the water valve solenoid, or water level censor can also cause this problem
