Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

Open Question

I get a check printer error w/9000 at the bottom of the led display. The motor does not drive the printhead at power on. The sensor strip is good and so is the belt. It is out of warranty. Is there a fix?

How do I fix? Designjet HP9000 error 1701

System Error 1700: Servo Motor Error

Description:
The Paper-Axis or the Scan-Axis Motor moves the Carriage, but the input from the Linear Encoder Sensor does not change
The easy thing to do is to check the "encoder strip". It's a metal strip about 1/4" high. It runs right to left behind the carriage assembly. Shine a flashlight on it and see if it looks damaged. If its dirty clean it with a slightly damp cloth(water or alcohol will work). Do it with power off. Make sure the carriage moves freely from one end to the other. If the carriage is binding or won't move at all, check the carriage belt for tears or shredding. If you can't SEE anything wrong it probably is the time to call in a trained tech.
The E0800 is a power supply error. You'll need a tech for that too.

x = 1: Printhead Number 2 (Light Magenta).
x = 2: Printhead Number 3 (Light Cyan).

Check whether the Sub-Tank Sensor Plate works correctly and is not
blocked by any foreign object.

Error 931

Solution What the error means

A Printhead Error message indicates that the printhead (laser scanner) unit inside the printer is not working correctly.
NOTE: On the E250d(n) models, all service errors are signified by the flashing of all of the lights. To determine if this is a printhead error, quickly double-press the pattlnk_312007_2142-continuebuttonicon_e120_en_us.gif button to see the secondary code. If the !, pattlnk_3132007_1545-paperjamicon_e340_e342_en_us.gif, and pattlnk_3132007_1542-continuebuttonicon_e120_en_us.gif lights are the only ones blinking, a printhead or a motor failure is indicated. For more information on deciphering the error lights, click here (PDF file, 255KB).

Clear the error

Step Action 1 If this is the first time you have seen the error, turn the printer off. 2 Leave the printer powered off for 10 seconds or more before turning it back on. This gives the printer a chance to reset. 3
Power the printer back on. If it goes to the Ready state, try printing again. If the error does not return, continue using the printer. 4
If the printhead error returns when the printer is powered on or when you try to print again, follow the suggestions below.

Check the power source the printer is plugged into

If this is an intermittent error, you may want to check how the printer is plugged into the wall.
Make sure the printer is plugged straight into the wall and not through a surge device or power strip. Please try this even if the printer previously worked correctly with this surge device. Power strips and uninterrupted power supplies can cause a low amperage problem, which can trigger a false printhead error.
You may also want to try plugging the printer into a different wall outlet to see if the printhead error continues. This will eliminate the power source as a possible cause of the issue.

If the error continues

If the error does not clear, the printer will probably require service to correct the issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support or a local authorized servicer for assistance.
When calling Lexmark Technical Support for service, please be prepared to describe the problem you are experiencing or the error message on the display. You will also need to provide your printer's model type and serial number. This information can be found on a label on the inside of the front cover of the printer.
Please call from near the printer in case the technician asks you to perform a task involving the printer.

Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!

Lexmark c782 ps printer has printerhead error..108.10

hi
If this is the firsttime the error has occurred, try turning the printer off. Let it sit turned off for atleast 20 seconds before powering it back on. If powering the printer offand back on clears the error, continue using the printer but watchit to see if any printhead errors return. If your printer continues todisplay a Printhead Error message, make sure it is plugged straight tothe wall and not through a surge device or power strip. Power strips anduninterrupted power supplies can cause a low amperage problem in your printer. This can trigger a printhead error even if the printer has worked on this surgedevice for months.
If theprinter continues to post a 930 Printhead Error, it thinks thewrong printhead unit is installed. If the printer was recentlyserviced, make sure the correct parts were used. This is especially true if theparts replaced were either the printhead unit or the printer's engine/systemboard. It is in one of these two parts that the printer is detecting theproblem. Note: If you are the personrepairing such a printer, please be aware that parts from different, though similar, printer models may not be compatible with this printer. Also make sure to check the laser cable going from the printer's engine boardto the printhead unit, as it reads that signal. If the printer was notrecently serviced before this error occurred and powering the printer off andon does not help, the printhead unit and possibly the laser cable or theengine/system board to this printer may need to be replaced.
If the printer continues topost a 931 Printhead Error, it thinks there is an error in the signalgoing to the laser or the Hsync part of the printhead assembly. If the printer continues topost a 932 Printhead Error, it thinks there is an Hsync error occurringin the printhead assembly. If the printer continues topost a 933 Printhead Error, it thinks there is a failure in either theHsync signal or with the mirror motor unit of the printhead. If the printer continues topost a 934 Printhead Error, it thinks there is a "lock"failure with the mirror motor assembly within the printhead assembly. If the printer continues topost a 935 Printhead Error, it thinks the mirror motor unit within theprinthead unit cannot reach its operating speed.
If powering the printer offand on does not clear any of these errors and it is alreadyconnected directly to the wall, your printer may require service. Itcould have a defective printhead unit or there might be a problem with theengine board or one of the printhead cables. Note:If you are the person repairing such a printer, check all of the cablesgoing from the printer's engine board to the printhead unit for any damage. Also check the continuity across these cables.

My print comes out with a blank strip down the left side of page......when print out comes out about a fourth of the way from left to right theres a blank strip fromtop to bottom...about a inch wide

Hi,

If the printhead in an inkjet printer is printer but not moving then a single block of print will normally be generated along the page. When this kind of problem happens the related components include the printhead positioning motor, the timing belt, the home position sensor, the control board and possibly the power supply.
With the power off, manually move the printhead to the center of the printer. Turn the printer on to see if the printerhead seeks the home position at the far end of the printer. if the printhead moves to the end of the printer, and it doesn't turn off, or doesn't return to the center of the printer then the home position sensor is malfunctioning and needs replacing. If the printhead assembly will not move at any time, check to see if the printer is in maintenance mode. In this mode the printer typically keeps the printer assembly in the home position. If no mode problems are present, then the positioning motor should be replaced.

Good Luck!

EPSON DFX 9000 DISPLAYING ERROR O F

This error occurs when the Home Position (HP) of the Automatic Paper Thickness Control (APTC) mechanism is not detected.
This error is caused by a malfunction of either the APTC HP sensor circuit, the APTC motor, or the driver circuit on the ROM Board.
Check the following in the order below, testing functionality at each step. If the APTC motor has malfunctioned, be sure to check the motor driver circuit on the ROM Board before replacing the motor.

1. Check connectors CNSEN1 and CNSEN2 on the ROM BOARD.
2. Check and replace the APTC HP UNIT
3. Check both the APTC motor, APTC UNIT, ROM BOARD, and replace either or both as necessary.
