Question about Canon MX882 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Will not print in red

I replaced all cartridges with Canon ones. Did every maintenance procedure on menu. Red print comes out yellow. Blue comes out almost aquamarine. Turned off and unplugged. Problem remains. Ran all maintenance choice a second time. Was using after market cartridges at time this started.

Aftermarket cartridges are easily the number one service issue in my shop. You have clogged the printhead. If you run `cleaning, color' (deep cleaning is NOT recommended), then the `nozzle check' to see results, you should see improvement with each color. If you don't, stop and take your unit in for service. It may need a new printhead.

Clean the Printhead in an Ultrasonic cleaner in deionized water with a drop of dishwasher detergent in it for about 20 minutes. Rinse with deionized water, dry thoroughly with hair dryer. I know, it sounds nuts, but it works, and if it doesent, you can just buy a new printhead, which you would have to do anyway.

Pictures coming out green

On a picture that you have printed, when you see an area of green, what color should it be? You probably have reduced flow of one of the "balancing" colors. Blue, Yellow and Red add up to Black. If your picture is supposed to be almost black and you don't have enough red, the color will pull toward the blue and yellow, giving it a green tint.

Photo prints

Try cleaning mode on the printer, secondly a single color on a print or two or thre with one color noticeably absent means that that cfartridge is close on or is empty. EG Red Blue Yellow most of print is Ok but at end of print only blue seen means RED AND yellow are empty and only blue has some ink left. Replace ALL cartridges so your prints and paper arent wasted .

Prints all yellow, with some blue and black, no brown

the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.

Canon i860 won't print deep colors

I had similar problem: everything muted and with brownish tint. Tried everything, finally discovered that I installed wrong cartridge: 6PC instead of 6C. The "photo" cartridges are pretty much the same, make sure you have the right ones: 6C, 6M, and 6Y.

My refilled cl41 canon type printer ink is only printing green

Dear angela,
First, try Deep Cleaning in maintenance menu of the printer driver properties. If the problem still persist it seems that you need to replace your cartridge with new one.

Hi,

Hope this will give you hints. To pin point directly you need to replace printer head. But before replacing please consider suction cartridge caps or nozzle by cleaning and freeing clogged airways by dettaching manually. I understand that the long time being not used has caused the problem. However if you can still use black and other colors then used it than complicating downtime in repairing procedures. Yes, you are right no need to clean deeper more than three times it will consume inks half empty. Have a nice day.

Besr regards,
Rosener Guyano
