Yes
it can be problem wth psu hence insert a wire in green socket and another in black socket of psu and this will short and psu fan will rotate. if psu fan rotates then you need to check the voltage supplies of the psu.

SOURCE: Asus P4S800-MX Motherboard video problem

The system speaker is usually a set of four pins and you use the outside pair to connect the speaker. You may need to go to the Asus web site to download the manual if you don't have it. Try to reset the bios either by shorting the appropriate pins or by removing the battery for a while.

SOURCE: Hi! i bought asus P5GC-MX/1333

  • you should have a manual with the motherboard ,it will show you where the lead goes,
  • if you do not have it go here http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
  • the case will have a lead that says front audio,
  • on the plug you will notice that one of the holes is blanked off (no hole)
  • and on the motherboard where the lead needs to go it will have a pin missing
  • so the plug can only go one way.
good luck with that

SOURCE: No display and wont boot

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace.

This solution is probably too late. However, it may help someone else. I had the same issue with my Dell Dimension 5150 and I replaced the front I/O USB Audio Panel and it booted right up.

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps
