Question about GE Energy Star WCVH6260F Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Water level How much water should be in the tub during a normal load? I used to notice water level would come up part way in the door window. Now it seems that there is barely enough water to get the clothes wet, and no water at all standing in the inner tub. Also, sometimes there is still a small amount of detergent in the dispenser when the rinse cycle starts so it is not even running enough water to completely wash all of the detergent out of the dispenser. How does the washer sense the amount of water needed for a load?

Actually, I may have been wrong to say there is no water at all standing in the inner tub. Today I hit the pause button half way through the wash cycle and opened the door to check the water lever. There was about 3 or 4 inches of water in the bottom of the inner tub under the clothes. Is this normal??

there is no spin between the wash and the rinse. Also the amount of water used during rinse is much less than the amount of water used during a wash.

The level of water in the drum is controlled by a pressure switch. This switch is attatched to the drum via an air tube which pushes air into the pressure switch as the machine fills with water. There could be a blockage in the pressure chamber attatched to the drum or the pressure switch is faulty.

Generally speaking grass clipping etc will stay in tub on a hi efficiency washer. That's why the water level is very low also-high efficiency, low water use. Most LG washers have an extra water button to add a small level of water per wash.

Kenmore Washer only leaking from one area

Ive never worked on a Kenmore but it may just be the overflow outlet. All washing machines have an overflow which will dump water out from the top of the tub if it overfills but sometimes on high fill water level, clothes can splash around and cause a "wave" of water to splash out over the overflow outlet. Check to see if the leak only occurs when you have selected high level fill.

I had the same problem. You need a brake kit. it holds the drum still while in the agitate mode. the centrifical force of the water during that slow spin is causing the water to spill over the top of your drum. easy and cheap fix.

There is a solution inside the inner tub cover that helps serve as a balancing aid during the spin cycle. It is a normal sound on the washer. There is not a problem.

Fdb1050rec1 frigidaire dishwasher door leak

I think you most likely have a basin Float water level sensor that is no working correctly, the door seal is not water proof, if the water level gets over the lip of the basin it will leak on the floor.

Another flood. GE washer

The water sound is normal. There is a solution in the top of inner tub for balance. Is it overflowing...as in not stopping the fill cycle? If so check to make sure small hose is still attached to outer tu at bottom left front. This dome that it connects to can become filled with scum and causes the unit to not know that it's full. This causes flooding. You can try removing hose and cleaning out with thin wire. Sometime only fix is to replace outer tub. Again, this is only if overflowing!!
Another possibility is a bad break allowing outer tub to spin in agitation. This throws water up over sides of tub. Monitor unit when agitating to see if outer tub picks up speed and starts to spin. It is normal for it to index.

Washer tub slowly fills with water

Is your problem a SLOW FILL problem, or a problem with WATER DRIPPING FROM THE RUBBER DOOR SEAL - or BOTH? If you have a slow fill problem, this is generally caused by a bad fill valve, which can be attributed to hard water deposits or well water mineral deposits. Sometimes the fill valve can be removed, cleaned and reinstalled, but most of the time a new fill valve is required. If you are experiencing water leaking from the rubber door seal (bellow), it may be time to replace it. Sometimes the seal can develop a wrinkle or crease where it meets the glass, which can cause leaks. Water dripping from the door when you open after washing a load is normal. Water dripping during a load is NOT. The bellow may also have started to rip or tear inside the door which may not be noticeable until you pull the folds of the bellow back and look underneath it. I hope this helps.
