Try power cycling your wireless router, turn off or unplug for 30 sec then turn back on and try to reconnect, also most laptops have an on-off switch or button for the wireless card, make sure it hasn't accedentily been turned off.
If this solves your problem please give a fixya rating

Connecting 2nd computer to router via wireless

first, your router wont look for your laptop. your laptop has to find your router. make sure your wireless card is activated on your laptop. right click on the icon where it says network cable unplugged. it should then say "view available networks". click on that and look for your network. if you need further guidance, write me back and tell me what brand of laptop you have. also, for the second tower, if you are trying to go wireless with it, then you need a wireless adapter.

HP laptop shows full internet signal, wont let me connect

First, the "Network Cable Is Unplugged" - don't worry about that. That is just informing you that your WIRED connection is unplugged, which is fine because you are using wireless.

Now the actual issue of no internet...first try by unplugging your internet modem for 20 seconds, and plugging it back in. Next do the same with your wireless router. At this point your computer will disconnect form the wireless network and you may need to reconnect it. After the reconnect see if you still have the same issue, but chances are it should be fixed :-)

If that does not work let me know and we can further troubleshoot the issue!

CAN'G CONNECT TO THE INTERNET.

How are you connecting to the router? Wireless, or wired?

If wired, is there a wired connectoid for a network card when you click on Start|Settings|Network Connections?

If wireless, is there a wireless connectoid for a wirless card when you click on Start|Settings|Network Connections?

The say view wirless networks or what ever it would say then you should see a list of avalible networks at that time. The slect the network that you own an say conect. When conecting it way ask for a WEP password which is located on the router. I hope this will help you.

There modems are easy to set up all you have to do on there modem is enter the ip adress enter the defalt user name and password and change it to one you can remember and you would be online. One other thing most of there routers have built in wirless network asses which is protected by a WEP password which is located on the botom of the router.
To check if you qualify go to www.verizon.com and lock for there to enternet choces you wold need to enter you home phone # or adress to see if it is avaliabe.

Tiscali wirless connection issue

Sounds like the router may need a firmware update as the DHCP service is failing to run correctly.

You can however just use a static ip address.
First of all find out the network address in use.
eg. 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.2.1
to find out, - start menu - run - cmd - ok - ipconfig

1. Log on to the client computer as Administrator or as Owner. 2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 3. Click Network and Internet Connections. 4. Click Network Connections. 5. Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties. 6. Click the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the This connection uses the following items list, and then click Properties. 7. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Obtain an IP address automatically (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.

Note You can also assign a unique static IP address in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254. For example, you can assign the following static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway:

IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
