Question about Samsung LN32B550 32 in. LCD HDTV
My TV will not turn on with the remote. I have to turn it on by the button on the TV itself. When I do the volume will go max and will not adjust. It seems like a button is being constantly pushed on a remote. The light near the IR on TV is always blinking. I've tried different remotes and blocking the IR on the TV and problem still persists. If I enter the menu or source screen, the TV will go crazy and go through settings and change them. IT seems like a button is stuck.
Please remove the batteries from the remote and check whether it is possible to use the local keypad on the TV? If the volume increases, it may be a problem in the local keyboard.

It's interesting I unplugged everything and it sat for a few days. I plugged everything back in and it works like normal again. It's been fine for about 4 or 5 days now. I will try what you suggested if it messes up again. But just to be clear, did you mean to try to press the buttons on the TV repeatedly? or the remote buttons?
Thanks for the advice

SOURCE: Menu Trouble
perhaps the volume down button on the TV is stuck. It could be either physically stuck, or the electronic logic could be messed up. Just to rule out a problem with the remote, take the batteries out of it and then adjust the volume at the TV and see what happens.

They volume indicator you are seeing is meant to show the volume of content if it were to be recorded on the cable's dvr. This indicator has no effect on the volume of content as it is being watched. This feature allows recording of sound at a set volume even while the tv is off. It sounds as though you'll just have to use the volume buttons on your tv's remote, though you might want to try seeing if there is alternative set-up for those cable volume buttons.

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
First check in the menu that the speakers are switched on, next check the TV in all inputs.
If using an HDMI input the audio may switch off.
Try running an antenna or cable to the Tv direct to determine if its an HDMI or basic setting issue
If I have helped you with your issue
If you have more questions you can still respond
I will reply asap

Warning! Pull out the cord first!!! Open the TV take the tester and check over the mini board with the buttons, there might be the Vol- button in shortcut, or get some water. If its short, must replace, if there are water/ liquid/ oxyds traces, take a toothbrush, put a little of alcohol, and gently clean the place, after that dry it with a hairdryer.
