Question about GE SpaceMaker Microwave Ovens
I was baking a sweet potato that was unwrapped. The potato exploded and caught fire and the microwave stopped working. I dowsed the fire with a cup of water and carefully removed the charred potato and the rotating plate it was on.
I haven't heard of such a thing. You must have cooked it until there was no moisture left in the potato. That would also account for the failure of the oven. It would be the same as no load in the oven.
A thermal protect part is your current problem.

Fuse is behind the control panel. Has cavity sensors and a magnatron thermal disc also. Start with the fuse and then pull it down if not the problem. Eric
