Make sure when you reset it you also remove the data cable from the printer, then unplug, wait a few minutes, or up to 30 minutes, then reconnect and restart.

I had a paper jam and cleared it. Now the power light and paperfeed light are on and won't go off. I cannot print nor turn off the printer via the buttons. I have reinstalled drivers, opened the back panel...

What precisely IS the error message? In lieu of this information, unplug the printer. Check the paper path thoroughly including between rollers. Any tiny fragment will jam. Use a falshlight and magnifier if you must. Load with normal thickness printer paper. Plug the unit in. Hold the power button down for 10 seconds. Test page should print.

Constant yellow blinking light, no paper jam

I found this on the HP support site:

The power light is on, and the resume light is blinking.

c00109831.gifc01272271.gifc00109834.gif The printer might be waiting to complete a print job or to receive data from your computer.

Solution

Wait for the printer to finish the current task. The printer is waiting for the ink to dry on freshly printed paper.

Solution

  1. Remove the paper with fresh ink.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might be out of paper.

Solution

  1. Load paper in the paper tray.
  2. Press the resume button.
The printer might have a paper jam.

Solution

Clear the paper jam. If the resume light continues to blink after the paper jam is cleared,

OR

if the print carriage is stuck or making a grinding noise, then follow these steps.

Solution

  1. Lift the top cover of the printer.
  2. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  3. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer when the grinding noise starts. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
  4. Movethe print carriage toward the middle of the printer (this proceduremight take a couple of tries to get the timing correct).
  5. Remove the print cartridges and close the top cover.
  6. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
  7. Open the top cover, reinstall the print cartridges, and then close the top cover.
The printer may be ready to eject banner paper.

Solution

Press the resume button to eject the banner paper.

Hi I have a HP desk jet 1220c I had a paper jam managed to get the paper out with great difficulty by removing the back. Initially the green and yellow lights wouldn't go of and the printer wouldn't work...

Hi andypay,
you problem is in the Key lock of the back that you have removed ,
try fix it properly and switch the lock key clockwise untill reatched the end mark arrow,
for your knowledge there is a sensor for this back door, the symptom of this is when plug in the printer the LED fashes green and asif the printer turn off and no more until remove it from power intake and replug it.

hope this helpfull.

thanks,

Hamedo

Paper jammed. pulled out. now yellow light flashes. runs, but no print

check the paper path, specially where the paper is being pickup. it might still have a small peice of paper stuck in the path. pull out the paper tray. can check the paper path in the front of the printer.
use a flash light if you can not see inside.
unplug it printer after you finished. wait 10 sec and plug it back in. that will clear the printer of any remaining print job, and rest the printer.

if this solve your problem, please rate the answer.
thank you
