You can go to most any auto parts store if check engine light is on. and they will scan it for free, and tell you what the problem is. but the light has to be on to get scanned. god bless!!

The most common problem for this symptom, is a faulty cap and rotor. When was the last tune-up? There are other reasons for a bad miss though. You may have another ignition related issue. Run a compression test first, check the battery and the charging system, look for loose or damaged wiring in the engine compartment. From there you can inspect the ignition system, and the fuel system. If there is any additional information that you can think of, write back. Maybe you noticed a light on the gauge cluster that was never on or flashing before. Good luck.

# cylinder 3 misfire

you don`t say how you verified that the plug and wire was good. I think these use coil on plug, if so check powers and grounds for that coil as one may have a problem.other things that could cause this is a bad fuel injector, poor compression due to either rings, valve, worn cam, damaged push rod,

Missing and reduce power don't run over 30 miles

Check your cat. converter on the exhaust. Start engine and using a rag (so you don't burn yourself) block the tailpipe and how much pressure is coming out. If it seems to take some time to build up the converter could be plugged. Next disconnect the exhaust at the engine tie up the exhaust so it won't drag and road test. If the converter is bad the engine will run normal if still runs the same then you will need the electronics checked out.

Lincoln ls missing power loss

You either have a really bad COP Ignition Coil,
or you have several failed at one time.

If you have a professional scan tool or software used, in
Generic Mode $06, you will see the individual cylinder
misfire counts. Then you can replace just the bad guys

If your front two O2 Sensors have 100,000 miles on them,
replace those two. Unrelated, but you will notice the instant
throttle response, once you get rid of the misfires

Also need the correct spark plugs, not fancy ones with several
prongs, they don't work in that car

I suggest NGK Double Platinum ,the Single Platinum were the
OEM made by NGK

Don't be supprised if the Battery goes dead & causes those issues
also. Have to go to a Dealer for that, because of the vent out of the
trunk. (BXT-66-750) $109.95 ,no discount, even to a business,
just got one last week

Give me the codes you have & if you have the ETC Failsafe lite
Does the MIL Lamp stay on or flash? If it flashes don't use the car
you will ruin the converter

1995 Silverado 1500 350 tbi; Engine started missing badly about two weeks ago. Low on power. Checked the following and all good; compression, plugs, dist cap and rotor

How did you inspect your parts. Sometimes a part might look ok when actually it is bad. When was the last time you replaced your Fuel filter? I would perform a fuel pressure test. You may have a weak fuel pump. You don't list checking your plug wires. You may have some bad plug wires. Also remove your rotor and look in the distributor. There is a part located under where the rotor goes that is a ceramic type of material. I can't remember what they call it but inspect it for cracking. Is is a fairly common thing. If you see cracking you will need to replace the distrubutor shaft which is not a big deal or you can buy a remanned distributor if you don't want to mess with it. Also you may have an EGR valve that is sticking open which could cause your symptoms.

99 s-10 4cyl bad miss no power obd2 says open circut injector but not witch one .How do i find out?

HI. One way to check which injector has the open circuit is to use an ohm meter.
With engine off disconnect each injector at a time and put the test leads of the ohm meter on the terminals of the injector, take a reading. The 4 readings should be approx. the same.
The injector at fault will show no reading ( open circuit)
So good luck with this test
Ps if you don`t have an ohm meter they are cheap to buy. you don`t need a profesional one
